  • Patent number: 4691764
Abstract: A heat exchanger unit comprises a support on which is positioned a plurality of stays mounted at spaced locations. A horizontally extending bracket is secured to each of the stays and a plurality of connected heat exchanger plates are suspended from their upper ends from the brackets. The plates have heat media carrying channels which are joined together. The support advantageously comprises a steel ring to which the brackets are attached and which extend radially inwardly also radially outwardly. The heat exchanger plates are rectangularly shaped and are suspended from each bracket so that it hangs freely downwardly. Wire guards extend between the plates to prevent them from deflecting and contacting each other. The construction permits the elimination of spaced support elements which interfere with free heat exchange flow between the plates.

  • Patent number: 4625794
Abstract: A plastic heat exchanger comprises a single heat exchanger construction made up of a plate having two spaced apart walls and with a plurality of substantially parallel cross webs interconnecting the two walls which define a multiplicity of longitudinal heat transfer medium flow channels. The plate is assembled with a distribution and collection element which has spaced apart walls which are adapted to be arranged in abutting relationship with the walls of the plate and welded together with them to form a unit. The distribution and collecting element includes at least one heat transfer fluid plastic nipple inlet connection and at least one heat transfer fluid plastic nipple outlet connection. Advantageously, each unit may be interconnected by means of a plate which connects one nipple element of one distribution connecting element with a different nipple element of the next adjacent distribution and collection element.

  • Patent number: 4109859
Abstract: The heater is in the form of a hot water carrying pipe coil supported on a suitable base, such as a sub-floor, and having spaced parallel pipe ducts interconnected by pipe bends. A pair of parallel supporting laths, preferably in the form of flat bars, are fixed on the sub-floor in spaced relation to the opposite side walls of a room to be heated, and circularly curved members are secured to the laths at spacings therealong equal to the spacing between the pipe ducts, the curved members on one lath being staggered longitudinally relative to the curved members on the other lath. The connecting bends of the pipe coil are looped around these curved members, which latter thus serve as a pipe laying gauge. Stop members are secured to the laths in spaced relation to the free ends of the curved members to form, in effect, troughs for the connecting pipe bends.
