Patent number: 11629415Abstract: A process for electrochemical preparation of sodium alkoxide is performed in an electrolysis cell having three chambers, wherein the middle chamber is separated from the cathode chamber by a solid-state electrolyte permeable to sodium ions, and from the anode chamber by a diffusion barrier. The geometry of the electrolysis cell protects the solid-state electrolyte permeable to sodium ions from acidic destruction by the pH of the anolyte that falls in the course of electrolysis. The anolyte used in the process is a brine also comprising carbonates and/or hydrogencarbonates, as well as NaCl. The process solves the problem that CO2 from these carbonates and/or hydrogencarbonates forms in the electrolysis cell during the electrolysis of this brine obtained from pretreatment. The process prevents the formation of a gas bubble in the electrolysis cell that disrupts electrolysis and reduces the contamination of the chlorine with CO2.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2021Date of Patent: April 18, 2023Assignee: Evonik Functional Solutions GmbHInventors: Michael Horn, Felix Gärtner, Philip Heinrich Reinsberg, Rüdiger Teufert

Publication number: 20160207847Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of 1,3-butadiene from ethene by way of oligomerization and oxidative dehydrogenation. It is based on the finding that the 1-butene content of a feed material of an oxidative dehydrogenation must not be too high and must therefore be reduced. This occurs by way of isomerization which, however, does not take place from 2-butene to 1-butene, but vice versa from 1-butene to 2-butene. If, according to the invention, isomerization is carried out between the ethene dimerization and the oxidative dehydrogenation of 1-butene to 2-butene, it is possible to achieve a high yield of butadiene and reduce the formation of by-product.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2016Publication date: July 21, 2016Applicant: EVONIK DEGUSSA GMBHInventors: Guido STOCHNIOL, Felix GÄRTNER

Patent number: 4102368Abstract: A device for sampling fluid is provided which comprises a plurality of sample vessels uniformly spaced apart in a circle and means for the alternate feeding of fluid into the individual sample vessels. A buffer vessel whose volume is at least three to five times greater than that of each individual sample vessel is connected upstream in series to the sample vessels. The sample vessels are U-shaped and have two substantially upright tubular arms which are joined together at their bottom ends. One arm is smaller in diameter and ends below the opening of the other arm or has a mouth or opening below the opening of the other arm. The means for feeding the fluid enter the thicker and higher arm of the sample vessels and are so built as to be able to empty the entire contents of the buffer vessel in the course of at most one to two minutes into the sample vessel.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 1977Date of Patent: July 25, 1978Assignee: Ciba-Geigy AGInventors: Hans Rudolf Marfurt, August Zurrer, Felix Gartner
