    Abstract: A method for combusting a fuel includes, providing an oxidizer mass flow, providing a first oxidizer partial mass flow, combusting a fuel in the first oxidizer partial mass flow thus providing a mass flow of combustion products, providing the mass flow of combustion products to a duct, and ducting the mass flow of combustion products through the duct in a flow direction. A flow of a first supplementary fluid which is essentially aligned with the flow of combustion products is selectively provided as one of an oxidizer and a premixed fuel/oxidizer mixture. A further mass flow is discharged laterally offset with respect to a discharged mass flow of first supplementary fluid and across the flow cross section of the duct, to provide mass flows of supplementary fluids as laterally stratified layers of the respective supplementary fluids.

The recirculated flow is fed into a mixer together with fresh air to form a mixture that is fed to the gas turbine unit. The gas turbine unit includes a combustion chamber where a fuel is burnt together with the mixture. A control unit is provided, that is supplied with information regarding the fuel C2+ and/or H2 content and is connected to at least the diverter to drive it and online regulate the recirculated flow mass flow rate in relation to the fuel C2+ and/or H2 content.

    Abstract: A power plant includes a gas turbine unit adapted to feed flue gases into a boiler of a steam turbine unit, to be then diverted into a recirculated flow and discharged flow. The recirculated flow is mixed with fresh air forming a mixture that is fed into a gas turbine unit compressor. The discharged flow is fed into a CO2 capture unit that is an amine based or chilled ammonia based CO2 capture unit. A cooler for the flue gases can be configured as a shower cooler located upstream of the CO2 capture unit. The plant can also include a washing unit to neutralize ammonia drawn by the flue gases that can be fed with nitric acid gathered at the cooler.
