  • Patent number: 11969817
Abstract: A device to determine a state of an ultrasound welding process, which can be carried out using an ultrasound tool, includes a sensor element and an evaluation unit. The sensor element is configured to detect an electrical control signal from an ultrasound tool. The evaluation unit is configured to determine a signal property of the control signal and to determine the status of the ultrasound welding process based on a reference signal profile and on the determined signal property. An assembly with an ultrasound welding system and a method are also included.

  • Patent number: 11931818
Abstract: A method for non-destructive testing of a quality of an ultrasonic weld from a welding process includes detecting of a time-dependent measurement value over a period of time, where the measurement value is characteristic of a mechanical or electrical vibration behavior of a welding process to be tested. The method includes evaluating a measurement-value course of the detected time-dependent measurement value by using a Fourier analysis. The method further includes comparing a result of the evaluation to a reference value in order to test the quality of the weld. A measuring device and an ultrasonic welding system are also included.

  • Publication number: 20220023978
Abstract: A method for monitoring the quality of an ultrasonic weld includes monitoring a vibration behavior during a joining process with respect to an actual value of a vibration frequency and/or a vibration amplitude of at least one joining partner of joining partners involved in the joining process. A tool of an ultrasonic welding device is used in the joining process, and at least one measuring device is configured to quantify mechanical vibrations. The detected vibration behavior is analyzed using a Fourier analysis and compared to a predefined set value as reference value.

  • Patent number: 11063388
Abstract: A method may be provided for sealing a joining region of an electrical connection assembly, the assembly comprising a cable having a plurality of individual conductors, which are arranged in a holding sleeve of an electrical connection element and which are welded to an end section of the holding sleeve in the joining region, which is formed as a recess. The joining region may be sealed by means of a plug inserted into the joining region at an end face and in an interlocking manner, wherein the plug is adapted to a shape of a friction welding tool, by means of which the individual conductors and the end section of the holding sleeve have previously been welded to each other by friction welding. An electrical connection assembly may also be provided.
