  • Patent number: 11929518
Abstract: A traction battery for a motor vehicle includes a plurality of battery cells which are electrically connected to one another, a battery housing which houses the battery cells, several degassing elements for conducting gas away out of the battery housing in the case of a cell outgassing, a sensing system for localizing the cell outgassing, and a control unit which, in the case of a cell outgassing, actuates the degassing elements such that the degassing element situated nearest the cell outgassing remains closed and one or more of the degassing elements that are farther away from the cell outgassing is/are opened.

  • Patent number: 11703313
Abstract: A detection device detects a mechanical deformation of a high-voltage accumulator of a motor vehicle, and includes: a sensor element, which senses an electrical measurement variable, wherein the sensor element is substantially flat and is attached at least partially to a first component of the high-voltage accumulator; and an evaluation device for analyzing the electrical measurement variable between the sensor element and a second component of the high-voltage accumulator and for outputting a corresponding warning on the basis of the electrical measurement variable, wherein at least one region of the surface of the second component is electrically conductive.

  • Publication number: 20230038944
Abstract: A battery housing includes at least one membrane-like degassing element which is designed to yield when a hot gas of the at least one battery cell is released into an interior of the battery housing, and in so doing to open up a degassing opening in the housing wall for discharging the hot gas from the interior to an area surrounding the battery housing, and at least one protective cap which, for protecting the at least one degassing element against environmental influences, is arranged on an outer side of the housing wall in a manner overlapping the at least one degassing element and which is fastened to the housing wall by way of a holding device, wherein the holding device is designed to yield, and to completely release the protective cap from the degassing opening, when the hot gas is discharged via the at least one degassing element.

  • Publication number: 20220223960
Abstract: An energy storage device for a motor vehicle includes a plurality of round cells for electrochemical storage of energy and multiple retaining frames for retaining the round cells. The round cells are secured to opposing retaining frames by their ends. Cell connectors are provided on the retaining frames, which electrically contact the round cells arranged between the retaining frames from the outer sides.

  • Publication number: 20200411914
Abstract: A battery management system for a high-voltage battery of a motor vehicle monitors battery cells of the high-voltage battery. The battery management system can be arranged in a battery housing of the high-voltage battery and has an electronic circuit which is arranged on a circuit carrier and has a processor and a communication interface for communication with at least one vehicle-side unit external to the high-voltage battery. The electronic circuit has at least one pressure sensor, which is designed to detect pressure signals in the battery housing and transmit same to the processor. The processor is designed to detect, on the basis of the transmitted pressure signals, a thermal runaway of at least one battery cell of the high-voltage battery, to generate a signal in the event that a thermal runaway is detected, and to provide the signal of the communication interface for transmission to the unit.
