  • Publication number: 20250075668
Abstract: A method for managing temperature of a piston of an engine of a vehicle, the method comprises determining, by a throttle position sensor connected to a controller, a throttle position of a throttle valve of the engine, determining, by an engine speed sensor connected to the controller, an engine speed (RPM) of the engine, and determining, by the controller, an estimated piston temperature based on at least the throttle position and the engine speed.

  • Publication number: 20250065982
Abstract: A snowmobile includes a frame, a driver seat supported by the frame, a left footrest and a right footrest, a rear suspension assembly connected to the frame, an endless track supported by the rear suspension assembly, a motor supported by the frame and operatively connected to the endless track, a drive shaft, a driven shaft operatively connected to the endless track, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) operatively connecting the drive shaft to the endless track. The CVT comprises a drive pulley being operatively connected to the motor via the drive shaft, a driven pulley being operatively connected to the endless track by the driven shaft, a belt operatively connecting the drive pulley to the driven pulley, and a CVT housing enclosing the drive pulley, the driven pulley and the belt. The CVT housing defines an air inlet and air outlets including a first and a second air outlet.

  • Publication number: 20240400157
Abstract: A snowmobile includes: a frame including a tunnel; a rear suspension assembly connected to the frame and disposed beneath the tunnel; an endless track supported by the rear suspension assembly; a motor supported by the frame and operatively connected to the endless track; a drive shaft driven by the motor, a driven shaft operatively connected to the 5 endless track; and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) operatively connecting the drive shaft to the endless track, the CVT comprising: a drive pulley mounted to the drive shaft, the drive pulley being operatively connected to the motor via the drive shaft; a driven pulley mounted to the driven shaft, the driven shaft operatively connecting the driven pulley to the endless track; a belt operatively connecting the drive and driven pulleys; and a CVT 0 housing having a rigid mounting portion connected to the frame and to the motor. Other aspects are also contemplated.

  • Publication number: 20230358185
Abstract: A vehicle including an engine; a turbocharger, an intake air flow path of the vehicle defined from air entering the vehicle, passing through the compressor, and flowing into the engine air inlet; a coolant container assembly; a temperature sensor configured for determining a temperature in the intake air flow path; and a controller configured to selectively cause cooling liquid to flow from the coolant container into the intake air flow path. A method for managing engine air intake temperature or piston temperature of a turbocharged vehicle including: sensing a temperature of fluid within the air intake flow path, determining an estimated piston temperature; and in response to the estimated piston temperature and/or the temperature of the fluid being above threshold temperatures, causing an amount of cooling liquid to flow from a coolant container to the air intake flow path.
