Abstract: In one embodiment there is a method for activating a function of a mobile application on a mobile device, using a movable device, the movable device including a processor, the processor including an inertial measurement unit and a wireless transmitter. The method comprising: at the movable device: detecting a movement signal at the inertial measurement unit indicating movement of the movable device; in response to detecting the movement signal from the wireless transmitter, determining whether the movement signal meets movement criteria; in response to determining that the movement signal meets movement criteria, transmitting a function activation signal to the mobile device to activate the function of the mobile application; and in response to determining that the movement signal does not meet movement criteria, refraining from transmitting a function activation signal to the mobile device to activate the function of the mobile application.
