  • Patent number: 5162636
Abstract: In a glass mounting plate, which is provided on the underside with a partly transparent and partly non-transparent mask, is fitted an electric hotplate. An illuminating chamber illuminating by a lamp is connected to its underside. The mask gives rise to a marginal area through which light shines to the outside for indicating the operating state of the hotplate. The mounting plate can also be made from non-transparent material, such as sheet metal. The light then passes through a permeable seal or other transparent mounting components.

  • Patent number: 5086211
Abstract: To a lower coverplate of an electric hotplate a side plate is fitted, onto which can subsequently be mounted an insulator by means of a locking connection. The insulator receives connecting leads from the hotplate and corresponding connections, such as flat connecting tongues. As a result of the subsequent mountability of the insulator, the transportation height is reduced, and by a desired bending point, the entire connecting unit can easily be adapted to different installation shapes and heights.

  • Patent number: 4843217
Abstract: A cooking unit has electric hotplates (115) fitted in openings (113) of a mounting plate (112) and each electric hotplate is fixed against rotation. The associated rotation prevention member (14) can e.g. be an elastically movable tongue, which cooperates with a depression (132) in the vicinity of the outer, lower marginal edge (128) of the electric hotplate (115) and slopes upwards from the center in a substantially linear manner. However, even without any directly acting connection to the mounting plate, the rotation prevention member can prevent the rotation of at least two hotplates with respect to one another and combine the same to a rotation preventing compound unit. This leads to a constructionally very simple, easily assemblable and reliable fixing of the electric hotplates.

  • Patent number: 4818846
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for connecting appliance lines to cooking plates, hobs or hotplates. Our of the bottom of the electric hotplate, connecting pins (19b) extend for connection to connecting members (33) of a connecting piece (31) that is part of the appliance line. From a passage through an insulating member (20b) in the bottom of the hotplate, the connecting pins (19b) project outwards towards the circumference of the hotplate body (2b). In a transportation mode the pins can be resiliently and completely countersunk in the underside of the hotplate. In the vicinity of the front end of the connecting members (33) of the appliance plug, the connecting piece (31) of the plug has a threading and guidance apparatus for the connecting pins (19b) that does not project beyond the outer circumference of hotplate body (2b), thereby ensuring an automatic, positonally correct connection between the connecting piece (31) and connecting pins (19b).
