The second plate comprises a second channel for conducting media. The web formed between the first channels is lower in the crossing region of the second channel such that the first channels running on either side of the web are fluidically connected by a lower portion of the web. In or near the lower portion, the first plate is connected to the base of the second channel by a welded joint. The welded joint forms an end crater spaced away from a first end and a second end of the welded joint.

  • Publication number: 20240213501
Abstract: A separator plate for an electrochemical system and a bipolar plate comprising two such separator plates for an electrochemical system. An electrochemical system comprising at least two separator plates or one bipolar plate. A separator plate comprising a sealing bead for sealing off a region of the separator plate, the sealing bead having at least in sections a wavy course with at least two wave periods and a supporting bead for supporting the sealing bead. The supporting bead is spaced apart from the sealing bead and extends along the wavy course of the sealing bead. The supporting bead has a periodically changing, non-vanishing width with at least two periods, the width of the supporting bead being measured perpendicular to the direction of extension of the supporting bead and from a first outer bead foot to a second outer bead foot of the supporting bead.

  • Publication number: 20240167177
Abstract: A bipolar plate and method for producing a bipolar plate for an electrochemical system, comprising a core layer, which comprises a steel material and a metal anti-corrosion layer that protects the core layer from corrosion. The anti-corrosion layer comprises a plurality of anti-corrosion layer coats that comprise a substantially identical anti-corrosion material and are arranged one on top of the other. A material density of the anti-corrosion material within an anti-corrosion layer coat has a gradient as the distance from the core layer increases.

  • Publication number: 20240055619
Abstract: A separator plate for an electrochemical system comprising a first individual plate which comprises two first channels for conducting media which run next to one another and which are separated from one another at least in sections by a web formed between the first channels. The web comprising a lowered portion and a rear side of the base of the lowered portion is connected to a rear side of the base of the second channel in the contact zone of the individual plates via a welded connection. The welded connection comprises a first end region and a first curved portion, wherein the first curved portion runs, and is curved, in such a way that a virtual straight line running perpendicularly through the first end region intersects the welded connection at least two times.
