Abstract: An auto flicker detector (AFD) includes a difference generator that generates a difference image representing difference between consecutive frames of at least one pair of captured images from an image sensor illuminated by a light source; and a correlator operatively performed on the difference image to generate correlations associated with a first frequency and a second frequency respectively. A frequency at which the light source flickers is determined according to the correlations.

Abstract: A correction device includes: an offset updating unit, a calculating unit and a gain stretching unit. The offset updating unit is configured to generate a plurality of updated offset values according to a plurality of base offset values, wherein each of the plurality of updated offset values corresponding to one column of pixel values among a plurality of columns of pixel values generated by an image sensor. The calculating unit is configured to generate a plurality of columns of corrected pixel values according to the plurality of updated offset values and the plurality of columns of pixel values. The gain stretching unit is coupled to the calculating unit and configured to determine a compensation gain according to the plurality of updated offset values and accordingly generate a plurality of columns of output pixel values according to the compensation gain and the plurality of columns of corrected pixel values.

Abstract: An image capturing device including an image sensing circuit and a processing circuit is provided. The processing circuit controls the image sensing circuit to sense at least one partial frame before sensing a full frame. A number of pixels of the partial frame is less than a number of pixels of the full frame, and exposure time of the partial frame is shorter than exposure time of the full frame. The processing circuit performs an automatic exposure procedure according to the partial frame to calculate a fast exposure time and gain, transforms the fast exposure time and gain into exposure time and gain for the full fame, and control the image sensing circuit to sense the full frame accordingly.
