  • Publication number: 20100061640
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for detecting code of a holographic data page are provided. First, image information of at least one special pattern in the holographic data page is captured, and the captured image information is integrated into a characteristic symbol (CS) of the holographic data page. Then, the CS of the holographic data page is compared with a plurality of predetermined characteristic symbols (PCSs) to obtain a similarity between the CS and each of the PCSs. Thereafter, the PCS having the highest similarity to the CS is selected as the code information of the holographic data page.

  • Patent number: 7576900
Abstract: A system and a method for holographic storage mainly involve forming a holographic interference pattern in a holographic recording medium. The holographic storage system utilizes a light source to emit a coherent beam. The coherent beam is irradiated to a first reflector to form a divergent beam. The divergent beam is then irradiated to a second reflector to form collimating beams (a signal beam and a reference beam). The signal beam goes through a spatial light modulator (SLM) and is modulated by the SLM. After that, the reference beam and the modulated signal beam are irradiated to a convergent unit, and are directed to the holographic recording medium for forming the holographic interference pattern. The holographic storage system that the light source is split into a signal beam and a reference beam by a set of reflectors according to the reflection principle without involving refraction may employ wavelength multiplexing.

  • Patent number: 6621778
Abstract: This specification discloses an automatic calibration method for the output power of a pickup head for an optical information recording apparatus, which avoids laser diode thermal effects using duty cycle control and obtains the correct conversion function between the output current of a front monitor diode and the output power of the pickup head by curve fitting. This method only needs to measure one set of front monitor diode output current and output power conversion function of the pickup head. The same conversion function is applicable to all pickup heads of the same type. The optical information recording apparatus automatically detects the corresponding parameter for the pickup head. Each optical information recording apparatus can also automatically detect the specific power control parameters for each set of power control channel to obtain the optimal recording characteristics.
