    Abstract: A card edge connector for being retained into a notch of a print circuit board includes an insulative housing defining a central slot extending along a longitudinal direction, a first wall and a second wall located on the opposite sides of the central slot and a fitting portion extending downwardly into the notch from a bottom portion of the first wall, the fitting portion defining a plurality of first terminal slots and the second wall defining a plurality of second terminal slots. A plurality of first terminals are received in the first terminal slots, and a plurality of second terminals are received in the second terminal slots. Each first terminal defines a first retaining portion received in the first terminal slot and a first soldering portion extending out of the housing forwardly, each second terminal defines a second soldering portion rearwardly extending out of the housing.

    Abstract: A card edge connector is used for connecting an electronic card to a printed circuit board and includes an insulative housing and a plurality of conductive terminals retained in the insulative housing. The insulative housing defines a front face, a mounting surface and a receiving slot running through the front face and extending along a longitudinal direction with a key disposed therein. Each conductive terminals defines a contacting arm extending into the receiving slot along a mating direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and a soldering portion extending outside of the insulative housing. Each contacting arm defines a free end portion located in the receiving slot and with a contacting portion disposed thereon, the thickness of the free end portion in a vertical direction perpendicular to both the longitudinal direction and the mating direction is smaller than the thickness of other parts of the contacting arm.

The housing defines a front face and a rear face, and a card receiving slot recessed from the front face to divided the housing to a first side wall and a second side wall. The first terminals are inserted in the first side wall from the rear face, the first terminals include retaining portions fixed in the first side wall, contacting portions protruding into the card receiving slot and board connecting portions. The second terminals include retained portions embedded in the terminal module, contacting portions and board connecting portions. The terminal module is assembled to the front face of the housing, the contacting portions of the second terminals are arranged along the second side wall and project in the card receiving slot.
