  • Patent number: 5453215
Abstract: Detergent powders of high bulk density, containing anionic and nonionic surfactant and builders are prepared by spray-drying a low moisture content slurry containing liquid active surfactants to suspend inorganic solids including selected builders. A viscosity adjuster may be added to improve processability.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 17, 1993
Date of Patent: September 26, 1995
Assignee: Lever Brothers Company, Division of Conopco, Inc.
Inventors: William M. Karpusiewicz, Andra J. Vlosky, Feng-Lung G. Hsu, Charles F. Irwin, Mark E. Pflugfelder
  • Patent number: 5447651
Abstract: Detergent powders of high bulk density, containing anionic and nonionic surfactant and builders are prepared by spray-drying a low moisture content slurry containing a prepared or pre-manufactured blend of liquid active surfactants to suspend inorganic solids including selected builders. A viscosity adjuster may be added to improve processability.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 17, 1993

  • Patent number: 5324455
Abstract: A liquid surfactant composition mobile at a temperature within the range of 20.degree. to 80.degree. C. comprising: (a) up to 70% by weight of a sodium or potassium salt of an alkyl benzene sulphonate or alkyl sulphate; (b) up to 80% by weight of an ethoxylated nonionic surfactant; (c) water in an amount not exceeding 20% by weight; and (d) 0.5 to 80% by weight of a fatty acid having 8 to 22 carbon atoms. The liquid may be sprayed onto a solid particulate material at a temperature within the range of 20.degree. to 80.degree. C. to provide a particulate detergent composition having bulk density of at least 500 g/l and good dispensing properties.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 6, 1993
