  • Publication number: 20110193798
Abstract: A touch sensing apparatus includes: a sense unit connected to a sense scan line and a sense line; a location detection unit that detects a location of a touch from a sense signal transmitted from the sense unit through the sense line; and a determination and trigger unit that determines whether a touch is sensed from the sense signal, generates a trigger signal that instructs whether or not to operate the location detection unit, and transmits the trigger signal to the location detection unit. The determination and trigger unit includes a logic operation circuit that generates a trigger signal for operation of the location detection unit when the sense signal implies that a touch is sensed while a sense driving signal is applied to at least one of a plurality of sense scan lines. The location detection unit is operated at a minimum to minimize power consumption.

  • Publication number: 20080297468
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) apparatus includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer and a backlight assembly. The first substrate includes a display part and a sensor part. The sensor part is disposed in a peripheral area of the display part and senses external light. The second substrate is disposed opposite to the first substrate. The liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The backlight assembly is disposed adjacent to the second substrate to expose the first substrate and to provide light. A light detecting function of the sensor part may be increased, so that the backlight may be used effectively and the power consumption of the display apparatus may be reduced.

  • Patent number: 7439886
Abstract: A variable-length decoder includes a bitstream interface unit and a decoding unit. The bitstream interface unit generates a decoding bitstream for a current decoding process based on an unused decoding bitstream and an input bitstream. The unused bitstream includes unused bits of a previous decoding bitstream. The decoding unit decodes the decoding bitstream to generate a plurality of symbols per clock cycle and provides a next unused bitstream for a next decoding process to the bitstream interface unit.

  • Publication number: 20070268230
Abstract: Disclosed is a level shifter having an amplifier amplifying a second supply voltage and generating an input voltage higher than the predetermined signal, a input buffer selectively transferring an input signal based on the input voltage of the amplifier and an output transistor providing a first supply voltage to an output terminal based on the input signal of the input buffer. When the transistor of the amplifier is turned on, the voltage difference of between gate and source of the input buffer is increased according to the increase of the input voltage, so that it is possible to operate with high speed. Moreover, when the transistor of the amplifier is turned off, the voltage difference of between gate and source becomes negative so that power consumption may reduce because there is no leakage current.
