  • Patent number: 7506715
Abstract: A safety device for a motor vehicle including a front-end structure, a front bulkhead, which separates the front-end structure from an interior, and a brake apparatus fixed to the front bulkhead and including a brake cylinder, the brake cylinder includes a device for pivoting the brake apparatus, which device, in the event of a vehicle crash, interacts with structural elements disposed in the front-end structure. The safety of a driver present in the motor vehicle may be increased. The device for pivoting the brake apparatus includes a fastening portion and a slide portion with a slide plane.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 21, 2004
Date of Patent: March 24, 2009
    Assignee: Daimler AG
Inventors: Reinhard Averdiek, Dietmar Breitling, Ferdinand Gaiser, Joachim Herre, Uwe Krempels, Richard Krueger, Bengt Larsson, Christoph Mueller, Michael Piesche, Klaus Riehle, Axel Schmidt, Alfred Schnabel
  • Patent number: 7328937
Abstract: The invention relates to a trunk of a motor vehicle, having a goods rail (14) which is oriented approximately in the direction of the longitudinal axis (L) of the vehicle and is intended for fixing goods to be transported. In the event of a rear impact, penetration into a seat region arranged in front of the trunk is prevented by reducing the effective of the goods rail (14), by the goods rail (14) being composed of at least two partial rails (15, 16). According to the invention, the separating plane (17) between the partial rails (15, 16) runs in an obliquely inclined manner.

Date of Patent: February 12, 2008
    Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AG
Inventors: Ferdinand Gaiser, Jens Hantusch, Thomas Remmen, Klaus Riehle, Uwe Schon

  • Publication number: 20050225043
Abstract: A fuelling device for a motor vehicle has a tank filler neck being surrounded at least in areas by a foam material. For improving safety particularly in the event of a rear impact, the foam material is constructed as an essentially nondeformable matrix.

  • Patent number: 6206461
Abstract: A bottom structure for a self-supporting motor vehicle frame body, especially a passenger automobile frame body, has two lateral beams extending into the rear. The beams are joined together in the rear area by at least two spaced-apart crossbeams. At least one central longitudinal strut reaches or extends between the crossbeams and is disposed parallel to the lateral beams with broadened thrusting surfaces and the ends of the strut resting against the crossbeams.
