  • Patent number: 7699379
Abstract: A locking device for a movable motor vehicle part (2), especially a movable roof part of a vehicle roof which can be opened, has a locking element (3) for fixing the vehicle part (2) in the end position of motion, a pivoting support (5) which can be pivoted between a rest position and an operating position. The locking element (3) is movably supported on the pivoting support (5), and is covered on the visible side by the pivoting support (5) when it is in a rest position. When the vehicle part (2) has moved into the end position of its motion, it is supported by the pivoting support which has pivoted into the operating position (5), and in this position, is fixed by the locking element. The locking element is covered on the visible side by the pivoting support when it is in the rest position.

  • Patent number: 6822168
Abstract: A cable harness arrangement, especially for connection of the individual components of a motor vehicle, is provided which includes a flexible printed circuit board having at least one flat printed circuit and at least one non-flat conductor. The non-flat conductor is fixed at least partially by the flexible printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 6592178
Abstract: An openable motor vehicle roof including a closing element adapted for movement into a position that closes or at least partially clears an opening in a fixed roof skin of the motor vehicle, and a cover element adapted to be positioned underneath the roof opening for movement into a position that conceals or at least partially clears the closing element or the roof opening with respect to an interior area of the motor vehicle. At least one drive mechanism is provided for selectively and adjustably moving the closing element and the closing mechanism. Also provided is a controller for controlling the drive mechanism, the controller adapted to control the drive mechanism such that movement of the closing element into a closed position is not initiated until the cover element is moved at least into a position which covers an area of the roof opening that is not covered by the closing mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6283543
Abstract: An improved motor vehicle roof is provided which includes a roof opening provided in a fixed roof surface, at least one closing element for selectively at least partially closing the roof opening, an electrical adjusting drive for driving the closing element and a sensor engineering system for detecting a situation which adversely affects the safety of the passengers and for producing a corresponding danger signal. Importantly, the roof includes a quick-action closing device coupled to the sensor engineering system which causes the closing element to close from its open or partially open position when a danger signal is present. The closing device includes means for producing an electrical voltage which exceeds the normal feed voltage (rated voltage) of the adjusting drive by several times, and for applying the voltage to the electric adjusting drive.

  • Patent number: 5764008
Abstract: Drive device for closing parts in motor vehicles, especially sliding roofs, sliding/lifting roofs, and the like, with a drive motor, a sensor for determining the actual rpm of the drive motor and a clamping protection means for disengaging or for reversing the direction of rotation of the drive motor when the danger of clamping of the closing parts arises. The device has a speed controller which delivers an actuating signal which is a function of the deviation of the actual speed from a set speed of the drive motor. The drive device also includes an actuating means for varying the supply voltage delivered to the drive motor depending on the actuating signal of the speed controller, and an evaluation means which triggers the clamping protection means and which determines the existence of incipient clamping based on a signal which is dependent on the actuating signal of the speed controller.

  • Patent number: 5259814
Abstract: A process for ventilating the interior of a motor vehicle having a closure which can be opened by a drive motor, an interior temperature-setpoint value generator, at least one interior temperature sensor, at least one outside temperature sensor and a logic component with inputs, outputs and a computer portion. Existing components (sensors, logic components) of different units are used and operatively linked so that the driver is largely relieved of the need to manipulate numerous controls.

  • Patent number: 5238447
Abstract: A process for cooling the interior of a motor vehicle and a roof system for its performance which has a roof part that can be opened by an electric motor. As a function of the interior temperature and an interior setpoint temperature, an automatic moving of the roof part that can be opened into a first open position takes place, in which a large roof opening is created. Time-dependent or as an alternative to this, when the temperature is less than a lower threshold temperature, an automatic moving of the roof part that can be opened into a second open position takes place, in which a smaller roof opening is created. The process and roof system enable quick removal of a build-up of heat when getting in the vehicle and in the beginning phase of a drive.
