    Abstract: A method for joining a first housing component to a second housing component by welding. The first housing component and the second housing component each have hollow bodies with closed hollow cross sections. It is provided that the hollow cross sectional shapes of both components correspond. The outside dimension of the second housing component is smaller than the inside dimension of the first housing component. The second housing component is disposed in the first housing component to create a peripheral gap between an inner wall of the first housing component and an outer wall of the second housing component. The first housing component is welded to the second housing component in the region of the gap between the first and the second housing component. A housing for an injection valve that is manufactured in accordance with the method.
