  • Publication number: 20140099509
Abstract: A method of producing a high barrier packaging material including the steps of applying an aqueous dispersion of polyvinylidene chloride (PVdC) to a first film (1), drying the aqueous dispersion of PVdC to form a PVdC layer (5), applying a second film (3) to the PVdC layer side of the first film (1) and peeling off the first film (1), while the PVdC layer (5) adheres to the second film (3).

  • Publication number: 20100018458
Abstract: A curtain coater for coating a substrate, comprising: a nozzle system for creating a curtain of at least one coating fluid dropping onto the substrate, a porous curtain guide structure, which has a guide surface for providing a lateral guiding action for the curtain, which cambers round convexly towards the curtain across a width extending beyond the thickness of the curtain measured transversely to the curtain, at least one cavity extending in the longitudinal direction of the curtain guide structure for an auxiliary fluid to be guided on the guide surface and a cavity wall surrounding the cavity, of which the curtain guide structure forms only a circumferential segment, and the circumferential segment bounding the cavity is a part of an external contour of the curtain guide structure extending about a longitudinal axis of the curtain structure.

  • Publication number: 20090232998
Abstract: A device for applying a liquid coating material onto a moving web-shaped substrate material, comprising application rollers rotatably mounted in a roller frame and forming a NIP roller gap for dosing the coating material; and a supply chamber for the coating material, which is vertically arranged adjacent to the rollers.

  • Publication number: 20070169693
Abstract: A curtain coater for coating a moved substrate , with a nozzle system for creating a curtain comprising at least one coating liquid falling onto the substrate ; a side edge splitting device which splits off an edge of the falling curtain at an outer end after leaving the nozzle system and thus bounds its width; and a curtain guide structure, with a guide which guides the curtain at the side, mounted with the side edge splitting device such that the side edge splitting device and the curtain guide structure are adjustable as a unit in the width direction relative to the nozzle system.

  • Publication number: 20070137563
Abstract: A curtain coating device for the coating of a moving substrate, comprising a nozzle device, for the generation of a curtain dropping onto the substrate, made up of at least one coating fluid and a curtain guide structure with a guide surface, which laterally guides the curtain, whereby the guide surface is convex to the curtain along a width exceeding the depth of the curtain when measured transversely. Additionally, a curtain coating method, whereby a curtain made up of at least one coating fluid is deposited on a moving substrate in free fall and guided on both sides by means of a convex guide surface transverse to the curtain.

  • Publication number: 20030235657
Abstract: A liquid film coating process is provided in which a curtain (5) from at least one coating fluid (1) is poured on an object (10) being conveyed at right angles to the curtain (5). A fluid coating (6) is formed on the object (10) as a result. A mixture of a coating material and an organic carrier liquid, which has a surface tension of at most 40 mN/m, is used as the coating fluid (1). The fluid coating (6) is solidified to form the final coating. To solidify the fluid coating either the organic liquid is removed from the fluid coating formed from the mixture on the object by evaporation or a liquid that can be polymerized by heating is used as the organic liquid in order to solidify the fluid coating formed on the object by polymerizing the organic liquid.
