    Abstract: A device for guiding and compressing a sliver running through the device in a travel direction includes first and second guide elements adjoining one another in the travel direction. Each guide element has two opposite first sides and two opposite second sides. Each guide element is formed of two face-to-face disposed wall elements which are spaced from one another perpendicularly to the travel direction and which form the first sides of the guide element. The second sides of each guide element are open in a direction perpendicular to the travel direction. The first and second guide elements are offset at an angle with respect to one another as related to the travel direction.

The second arrangement includes a third arrangement for forming, from the information, a spectrogram of the fiber material and for evaluating properties of the spectrogram to use such properties in adjusting the roll pair.

The segment-supporting strip has an upper surface supporting the carding segment at opposite end portions thereof and a lower surface opposite the upper surface. A radial distance between the clothing points of the segment clothing and the clothing points of the roll clothing is determined and is changeable by the shape and/or the position of the segment-supporting strip.

    Abstract: A fiber processing machine includes a sliver guiding device having first and second wall elements as well as first, second, third and fourth wall faces. The first and second wall faces which form part of the first and second wall elements, respectively, are oriented toward and spaced from one another to define a first gap. The third and fourth wall faces are oriented toward and spaced from one another to define a second gap. Some of the wall faces are convergent for densifying a sliver running through the first and second gaps. At least one of the first and second wall elements is stationary during operation. First and second cooperating withdrawing rolls immediately adjoin the first gap for pulling the sliver therethrough upon their rotation. The first and second withdrawing rolls define a bight into which the first and second wall faces extend. The first and second withdrawing rolls have respective first and second circumferential roll surface portions forming the bight.

The traveling flats include a plurality of flat bars each having a flat bar clothing cooperating with the cylinder clothing; and a drive for moving the flat bars in unison in an endless path having a working leg in which the flat bar clothings cooperate with the cylinder clothing and a return leg. The carding machine further has a flexible bend having a convex surface and being supported on the machine frame laterally of the main carding cylinder; and a slide guide supported on the flexible bend.     Abstract: A coiler can transporting assembly for advancing coiler cans in a transporting direction to a sliver-producing textile machine. The assembly includes coiler cans each having a bottom forming a conveying face; and a conveyor element having a discharge end and an upper transporting surface engaging the conveying face of the coiler cans when in an upright, standing position on the conveyor element. The conveying face and the transporting surface have a low friction value relative to one another. A can-stopping device is situated at a location along the conveyor element and has first and second states. In the first state the can-stopping device blocks advancement of a coiler can while the conveyor element continues to move in the transporting direction. In the second state the can-stopping device allows advancement of a coiler can therethrough.
