  • Patent number: 5954171
Abstract: The invention relates to a moving contact which has a sliding contact for the transmission of electrical power from an overhead line to an electrically powered vehicle. The overhead line can cause damage to the sliding contact, since the overhead line can be deflected vertically due to the influence of external forces. In order to prevent such damaging effects on the sliding contact, the moving contact is equipped with at least two height adjusting components. According to the invention, at least one passively sprung component and at least one component whose height can be controlled are installed between the electrically powered vehicle and the sliding contact.

  • Patent number: 5284419
Abstract: Propeller with twistable blades comprising a spar with ribs which can be rotated in opposite directions about the axis of the spar by an adjusting device. A coupling device in the propeller ensures that when two ribs are rotated in opposite directions by the adjusting device, the other ribs are adjusted accordingly. The coupling device consists of a rod substantially parallel to the spar and designed to be relatively bendable in the plane through the spar and the rod, and relatively resistant to bending in the plane perpendicular thereto. The rod couples at least three ribs together in such a way that it distorts when two ribs are rotated in opposite directions along a helix about the spar, causing subsequent ribs to move with it on this helix.

  • Patent number: 5024115
Abstract: A spindle drive for generating a rotational motion, in particular a drive for a high-voltage disconnecting switch, includes a drive shaft, at least one sliding block disk being mounted on the drive shaft and having recesses formed therein, two retaining bolts, a carriage in which the retaining bolts are fastened, a single slide nut for moving the carriage, and a drive spindle for moving the retaining bolts into engagement with the recesses. The drive spindle moves the retaining bolts through the slide nut and the carriage.

  • Patent number: 4849650
Abstract: A high-voltage switchgear having a fixed and a moving contact member includes a hydraulic drive for operation of the moving contact member having a piston and cylinder configuration with a piston coupled to the moving contact member. A fluid reservoir configuration supplies fluid under pressure to the piston for driving the piston. A compressor unit at ground potential charges the fluid reservoir configuration. Electrically-insulating, pressure-resistant lines respectively connect the compressor unit with the piston and cylinder configuration and with the fluid reservoir configuration. The piston and cylinder configuration and the fluid reservoir configuration are disposed spatially close to and at the same electrical potential as the moving contact member.

  • Patent number: 4788391
Abstract: A hydraulic or pneumatic drive for actuation of a movable switch contact of a medium and/or high-voltage power switch, especially an SF6-gas-insulated high-voltage power switch, includes a drive piston coupled to the movable switch contact. Fluid is delivered under pressure to the drive piston from a fluid reservoir configuration in order to perform one switching cycle having a given number of required switching operations. The fluid reservoir configuration has the given number of mutually separate independently acting storage chambers each having an energy content sufficient for a required switching operation.
