  • Patent number: 4501575
Abstract: A two speed rear wheel hub transmission for BMX bicycles and the like that can be utilized as original equipment or as a conversion kit. High and low speed drive sprockets are mounted with intermediary overrunning clutches on the rear wheel hub of a BMX bicycle with each adapted to be concurrently chain driven by larger diameter high and low speed sprockets commonly mounted on the pedal drive shaft. Both the high and low speed drive systems are normally biased into driving engagement with the rear wheel hub but with the high speed drive system normally overriding the low speed system which free wheels during normal high speed bicycle operation. Downshifting is effected by a manually induced counter-rotational precessing of the rear wheel mounted high speed drive sprocket for selective driving disengagement thereof and automatic, delay free shifting to the low speed drive without effective interruption of drive pedal sprocket rotation.

  • Patent number: 4419905
Abstract: A collar on the drive shaft of a bicycle pedal hub is mounted with means to displace the collar longitudinally along the shaft. The displacement is accomplished by a limited reverse rotation of the pedals and shaft. The direction of the displacement may be in either longitudinal direction and depends upon the position of the collar before the reverse rotation of the pedals and shaft. Displacement of the collar causes a bicycle transmission to shift gears.

  • Patent number: 4376394
Abstract: A multi-speed bicycle transmission located at the drive pedal hub and manually actuatable shifting assembly therefor. The shifting assembly further includes a slidable collar mounted on and rotatable in conjunction with the drive pedal shaft within the drive pedal hub having camming means thereon engageable by pivotably displaceable shift pin means extending into the pedal hub to effect selective manually induced longitudinal displacement of said collar on the drive pedal shaft and an accompanying shifting of the gears in response thereto.

  • Patent number: 4305312
Abstract: A multi-speed bicycle transmission located at the drive pedal hub and including a drive pedal actuatable shifting assembly for effecting gear change in response to limited reverse rotation of the drive pedal shaft at a pair of predetermined locations in the path of rotative displacement thereof. The drive pedal responsive shifting assembly further includes a slidable collar on the drive pedal shaft having two pairs of selectively contoured camming means thereon that are engageable by radially displaceable shift pin means extending into the pedal hub to effect longitudinal displacement of said collar on said collar on the drive pedal shaft and accompanying shifting of the gears in response thereto.

  • Patent number: 4213527
Abstract: A chain link conveyor comprises modules made of an organic plastic material and pivotably connected to one another. Each module is designed to be extruded as a slab and machined to form a module comprising intermediate sections, reinforcing center sections and a number of parallel spaced link end sections having aligned holes for receiving pivot rods. The module also includes a specially designed rib adapted to interact with suitable drive means of a conveyor system.

  • Patent number: 4080842
Abstract: A chain link conveyor comprises modules pivotally connected to one another. Each module is designed to be molded as a unit, preferably of an organic plastic material and comprises a number of parallel, spaced links having end sections with aligned holes for snap-together pivot rods, and intermediate sections joined by integral cross members to form a rigid, supporting grid.

  • Patent number: 4005504
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an improved method and machine for peeling shrimp for the fantail and butterfly shrimp market in which only certain desired segments of the shrimp shell are removed from the raw uncooked shrimp. The method assumes that prior to peeling the desired shell segments 1 through 5 from the raw shrimp that the back of the shrimp shell of segments 1 through 5 has been cut open and the condyle hinges between shell segments 5 and 6 have been broken. In the method of this disclosure the shrimp are fed lengthwise and individually one after another to a friction type peeling nip of short length.

  • Patent number: 3932914
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a condyle hinge breaker for shrimp which have been positioned upon a support at its terminus with the condyle hinge between the fifth and sixth shell segments of the shrimp positioned immediately above the terminus of the support and a position holding means has rendered the shrimp static relative to the support with only its sixth shell segment and telson extending there beyond. At this point pressure means is applied from the dorsal toward ventral side of the shrimp causing the sixth shell segment and telson to be wrapped about and beneath the terminus breaking the condyle hinge between the fifth and sixth shell segment.
