Abstract: Herein is described a dispenser of flexible tubing, for fitting to a waste disposal apparatus. The dispenser may include a compacted flexible tubing in the form of a ring; the ring typically having an aperture extending therethrough. The dispenser may comprise a flexible outer web and/or the flexible tubing, in uncompacted form, may have first and second ends, wherein, in use, the flexible tubing can be dispensed from the dispenser, such that the first end can be passed through the aperture, and the dispenser is adapted to prevent the second end of the tubing passing through the aperture of the tubing.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method of preparing a web of flexible material for production of receptacles for packaging. The method comprises the steps of feeding a web of flexible material past a succession of stations in which operations are carried out on the web including defining blanks for receptacles having walls and tabs by creating fold lines in the web, and then laminating a film of heat-sealable plastics materials to a face of the web of the flexible material. The film of heat-sealable plastics provides a heat-sealable surface on the web for bonding tabs of each blank together to form seams between adjacent walls whereby the blanks, when severed from the web, can be erected to form receptacles having openings to receive items to be packaged.

Abstract: It is described a gold nanoparticle coated with from two to five layers of a combination of a polyelectrolyte having amino functionality and a polyelectrolyte having sulfonic functionality, or with one single layer of said polyelectrolyte having amino functionality, preferably polyallylamine, or sulfonic functionality, preferably polystyrenesulfonic, characterized in that said nanoparticle comprises an outer layer of albumin. It is also described the process for its preparation, its use as carriers intended to cross blood-brain barrier and its use as medicament, in particular for treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, more in particular of diseases caused by protein aggregates, such as prion diseases, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Also described are pharmaceutical compositions comprising said nanoparticle.
