    Abstract: This invention relates in one aspect to various methods for preparing platinum (II) complexes and in another aspect to certain novel ligand platinum complexes, i.e.: ##STR1## where X is a monodentate ligand (X.sub.2) or a bidentate ligand Y, and where L and L' are ligands bonded through amine nitrogen (including pyridine type nitrogen), or DMF, and where preferably L.noteq.L'.Various novel platinum compounds within the above reaction series are also claimed.
