  • Patent number: 9131270
Abstract: Example methods disclosed herein to identify media sources include determining whether a first time difference between a first meter signature and a second meter signature associated with presented media is equivalent to a second time difference between a first reference signature determined to match the first meter signature and a second reference signature determined to match the second meter signature, the first and second reference signatures being associated with a first one of a plurality of media sources. Such example methods also include, in response to determining that the first time difference and the second time difference are equivalent, appending the second reference signature to a first tracking segment associated with the first one of the media sources to cause a first time length associated with the first tracking segment to be increased based on at least a respective timestamp associated with the second reference signature.

  • Patent number: 8739198
Abstract: Example methods disclosed herein to identify media sources comprise obtaining monitored signatures generated from monitored media, comparing the monitored signatures with reference signatures generated from reference media provided by a plurality of reference sources, determining tracking segments associated with respective ones of the reference sources, each tracking segment representing sequences of matches between the monitored signatures and respective reference signatures for a respective one of the reference sources, and evaluating time lengths of the tracking segments to identify which reference source in the plurality of reference sources provided the monitored media.

  • Patent number: 8589969
Abstract: Audience measurement methods and systems for producing audience information of a media presentation are disclosed. An example apparatus includes an audio capturing device to receive an audio signal corresponding to media presented in a local environment; a user interface including an audience member input, the selection of which is to indicate presence of an audience member; and a plurality of device inputs each corresponding to a respective type of media presentation device, the selection of one of the device inputs to indicate a type of media presentation device generating the captured audio signal; and memory to store first data associated with a first selection of the audience member input, the memory to store second data associated with a second selection of one of the device inputs, the memory to store the audio signal.

  • Patent number: 8359610
Abstract: Audience measurement methods and systems for producing audience information of a media presentation. At least one embodiment includes a moveable apparatus comprising an audio capturing means for picking up audio from a media presentation distributed to an audience through at least one media rendering device to produce an audio signal, processing means for processing the audio signal to derive the content identification information, user interface means for entering the presence information of panel members, memory means to store the content identification information and the presence information, and communication means for transmitting the content identification information and the presence information for further processing to generate audience information.
