Patent number: 11360970Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes accessing, by a processing unit, an existing layer representing geospatial-temporal data at a selected timestamp. A first overview layer of the existing layer is generated by iteratively aggregating each cluster of cells of the existing layer into a corresponding lower-resolution cell of the first overview layer. The first overview layer therefore has a lower resolution than the existing layer. A query is received related to the geospatial-temporal data in the existing layer, and the query is processed with reference to the first overview layer.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2018Date of Patent: June 14, 2022Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Marcus Oliver Freitag, Conrad M. Albrecht, Fernando Jimenez Marianno, Siyuan Lu, Hendrik F. Hamann, Johannes Walter Schmude

Patent number: 11327171Abstract: A computer-implemented method executed by one or more satellites for assessing crop development by using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is presented. The method includes generating SAR images from scanning fields including crops, monitoring grown of the crops within the fields during a predetermined time period, and estimating a height of the crops during the predetermined time period by using interferometric information from one or more of the SAR images and tracking change in height and growth rates. The method further includes differentiating between crops in different fields by monitoring changes in the height of the crops during an entire growing season.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2020Date of Patent: May 10, 2022Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Levente Klein, Siyuan Lu, Fernando Jimenez Marianno, Nigel Hinds

Publication number: 20210316456Abstract: Various aspects of methods, systems, and use cases include a robotic system and control or use of the robotic system. A method for autonomous movement of the robotic system may include receiving a target location, identifying robotic components of the robotic system that are in contact with a surface, and determining a robotic component of the robotic components to activate to cause the robotic system to move closer to the target location. The method may include activating, based on the determination, a motor of the robotic component to push against the surface to cause the robotic system to move towards the target location.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2021Publication date: October 14, 2021Inventors: Julio Zamora Esquivel, Fernando Jimenez Aguilar

Patent number: 10095471Abstract: A system and method for facilitating user access to software functionality, such as enterprise-related software applications and associated data. An example method includes receiving language input responsive to one or more prompts; determining, based on the language input, a subject category associated with a computing object, such as a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) opportunity object; identifying an action category pertaining to a software action to be perform pertaining to the computing object; employing identification of the software action to obtain action context information pertaining to the action category; and implementing a software action in accordance with the action context information. Context information pertaining to a software flow and a particular computing object may guide efficient implementation of voice-guided software tasks corresponding to the software flows.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2014Date of Patent: October 9, 2018Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Vinay Dwivedi, Seth Stafford, Daniel Valdivia Milanes, Fernando Jimenez Lopez, Brent-Kaan William White

Publication number: 20150287038Abstract: Data visualizations include first and optionally second containers representing first and second time periods, respectively; each container encloses icons representing data entities associated with the container's time period. Icons from the first and second containers may be moved to the other container to change the time periods associated with data entities corresponding to the moved icons. Additionally, changes to attributes of data entities made via the data visualization may be shared with other users. A level indicator representing data entities associated with the first container aggregate attribute value changes in response to icons being added to or removed from the first container. The containers may be visually styled as cups, the level indicators as liquid and/or a straw contained in the cup, and the icons as bubbles or other objects in the liquid.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2014Publication date: October 8, 2015Inventors: Brent-Kaan William White, Eduardo Lopez Grijalva, Fernando Jimenez Lopez, Laurie Pattison, Antonio Aguilar

Patent number: 7085554Abstract: The present invention is a system that uses a migration server to access voicemail of a source system through a front-end switch via a telephony interface, obtain voice messages stored on the source system and store them on a destination system via a data interface. A host processor initiates a migration based on a mailbox migration status stored in a host database and controls the switch to provide a path from the migration server to the source system. The host processor also controls call flow and initiates pass code (PIN) digit capture of a subscriber's pass code by the switch for mailboxes to be migrated. Call flow control includes determining to which system to route an arriving call based on migration status and determining whether to output a message-waiting indicator for newly stored messages. A migration server controls call tree navigation aspects of call flow during migration.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2003Date of Patent: August 1, 2006Assignee: Common Voices LLCInventors: Donald F. Picard, Douglas Daniel Raponi, Jose J. Capo, Ray Fernando Jimenez

Patent number: 4069761Abstract: A flare assembly including a flare mounted in a base and a plurality of wire legs pivotably connected to the base has its legs folded and the entire assembly inserted in a cup-shaped pusher element in a launch tube mounted beneath a vehicle. A spring under compression, when released by a trigger mechanism actuated from the vehicle dash, will force the pusher element through the tube to catapult the flare assembly into a roadway. The flare has a flint wheel in frictional engagement with the interior of the launch tube so when the flare assembly is launched, the wheel will ignite the flare. The flare will catapult from the vehicle and land on the legs which open to support the flare in an upright position, to warn oncoming vehicles of the distressed vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 1977Date of Patent: January 24, 1978Inventor: Fernando Jimenez
