  • Patent number: 10794170
Abstract: A smart system for circulating LCM can implement a method. While a wellbore is being drilled in a geologic formation, drilling parameters identifying wellbore drilling conditions of a wellbore drilling system drilling the wellbore are received. The wellbore drilling system flows a wellbore drilling fluid including particulates of different size distributions. The particulates operate as LCM to reduce loss of the wellbore drilling fluid in the geologic formation. Size distributions of the particulates in the wellbore drilling fluid flowing through multiple different wellbore fluid flow pathways of the wellbore drilling system are received. The size distributions represent a concentration of the particulates in the wellbore drilling fluid. A release of certain particulates into the wellbore drilling fluid is controlled based, in part, on the received drilling parameters and the received size distributions of the particulates.

  • Patent number: 10701801
Abstract: The present application describes the creation of a flexible textile structure with sensing and lighting capabilities without the loss of important features of a typical textile, for instance, comfort, seamless and mechanical flexibility. As sensing applications are described three different approaches that may or may not work together in the same system: a directly printed self-capacitive sensor, a knitted textile sensor and the integration of temperature/humidity bulk capacitive sensors directly on the textile. As lighting applications for decorative and signage purposes are used two different approaches that could work individually or together: an electroluminescent sensing device and the use of a hybrid sensor that includes the use of SMD LEDs and a printed self-capacitive sensor.

  • Patent number: 8260005
Abstract: A system, method and device for grading of meat such as bovine, porcine, sheep, horse or poultry meat among others. The device of this invention is a portable tool, which is approached toward a meat specimen to be analyzed and captures an image. The device then objectively relates the image to meat quality parameters by means of an image analyzing method. The device and method solve, in a practical, fast and satisfactory way, the problem of determining meat quality parameters such as texture, color, and contained intramuscular fat percentage.

  • Patent number: 7608272
Abstract: Pigs challenged with hypoglycosylated variants of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) major surface protein GP5 exhibited increased production of PRRSV-neutralizing antibodies relative to the levels of neutralizing antibodies produced by pigs immunized with wild type (wt) or glycosylated GP5. This invention provides for methods of obtaining improved immune responses in pigs to PRRSV, compositions useful for obtaining the improved immune responses as well as isolated polynucleotides that encode hypoglycosylated variants of PRRSV major surface protein GP5.

  • Patent number: 6935639
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for estimating the mean pressure in a compressible fluid strut. A database is employed containing values for mean pressure variation corresponding to a specific combination of motor speed and flow demand, and may also account for strut temperature. The flow demand and the speed of the motor are determined, and the mean variation corresponding to the determined combination of motor speed and flow demand is selected. The estimation of strut mean pressure is updated with the selected mean pressure variation. In this way, costly pressure sensors are eliminated as well as the complicated control algorithms which are used therewith.
