  • Patent number: 10899960
Abstract: The present invention relates to a nanostructured phosphorescent pigment comprising an Al2O3 substrate; MAl2O4:X nanocrystals, where M is a cation selected from Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+, Mg2+, Zn3+ and combinations thereof and where X is a cation selected from Eu3+, Dy3+, Nd3+, Er3+, La3+, Lu3+, Ce3+, Y3+, Gd3+, Tb3+, Tm3+, Yb3+ and combinations thereof, disposed on the Al2O3 substrate; and nanocrystals of molten salt disposed on the MAl2O4:X nanocrystals. Additionally, the invention relates to a method for preparing the nanostructured phosphorescent pigment of the invention comprising the steps of i) mixing starting materials comprising a cation M precursor, a cation X precursor, Al2O3 and a molten salt; ii) heating the mixture resulting from step (i) in reducing atmosphere.

  • Publication number: 20120133282
Abstract: An automotive vehicle system includes a light and a module. The light is adapted to be attached to an exterior of a vehicle. The module selectively illuminates the light during a vehicle stationary period based on an electric drive system state of charge. The module further selectively illuminates the light during a vehicle driven period based on vehicle operating conditions different than the electric drive system state of charge.

  • Patent number: 6787695
Abstract: A shield (100) having an outer surface (104) and a plurality of sidewalls (106) is disclosed. The plurality of sidewalls (106) extends from the outer surface (104). At least a portion of the plurality of sidewalls (106) are designed to retain the shield to at least a portion of a substrate (102). Further, at least a portion of the plurality of sidewalls (106) are designed to deflect away from the substrate (102) when pressure is applied to the outer surface (104) in such a manner that the outer surface (104) assumes a concave position (202).
