  • Publication number: 20080018604
Abstract: A a touch sensor including a keyboard having a key defining a touch sensing location, wherein the key is responsive to at least one of capacitive and electro-magnetic interactions with a user during a touch event includes control circuitry associated with the key, wherein the control circuitry outputs a control signal, and wherein an amplitude of the control signal is representative of an amount of interaction between the user and the key during a touch event. A controller is connected to the control circuitry and analyzes a variation in the amplitude of the control signal over a time period to identify the touch event.

  • Publication number: 20080007529
Abstract: A touch sensor includes a keyboard having a key defining a touch sensing location, and control circuitry associated with the key. The control circuitry includes a transistor, and the key controls the transistor based on a touch event. A pulse signal generator is connected to the control circuitry and generates pulsed signals for transmission to the control circuitry. The pulsed signals power the transistor, and the transistor outputs a touch signal when a touch event occurs at the associated key and the transistor outputs a non-touch signal when no touch event occurs at the associated key. An analyzer is connected to the control circuitry and receives from the transistor one of the touch signal indicating the touch event and the non-touch signal indicating the no touch event.

  • Publication number: 20070018965
Abstract: A touch control interface includes a panel having first and second surfaces. The first surface defines a touch interface area. The panel includes an opening extending entirely between the first and second surfaces, and the panel includes at least one touch sensitive element positioned within the touch interface area. An illumination source is positioned proximate the opening for transmitting light through said opening.

  • Publication number: 20060256089
Abstract: A user input device (UID) having a slide panel and a microcontroller is provided. The slide panel includes a plurality of sensors arranged in a pattern having at least one pair of adjacent sensors. Upon operation of the slide panel, including an operator sliding action along the slide panel, respective sensors of the plurality of sensors generate a signal indicative of activation of the corresponding sensor. The microcontroller receives the signals generated by the respective sensors responsive to the operation, and for a valid combination of received signals generates an output signal corresponding to the received signals. When the received signals indicate activation of one sensor of a pair of adjacent sensors of the at least one pair of adjacent sensors, the output signal corresponds to a first output state, and when the received signals indicate activation of both sensors of the pair of adjacent sensors, the output signal corresponds to a second output state.

  • Patent number: 7011118
Abstract: A compressor for natural gas is made in a format suitable for mounting on a wall or upright support at a residential location to permit refilling of the gas reservoir of a gaseous-fueled motor vehicle parked at the residence. The wall-mounted appliance has vibration isolation supports to minimize transmission of noise into the residence. It has a ventilation and air circulation system that allows it to test for the presence of flammable gas both leaking from the appliance and present in the adjacent ambient environment, e.g. a garage. A motor speed control system permits operation of the appliance at speeds which are reduced when approaching the final pressure for the motor vehicle reservoir and at speeds which avoid the natural resonant frequencies of the system.
