  • Publication number: 20170039238
Abstract: An example method of loading data from a database includes receiving, at a cache node, a current query and a data chain that includes a sequence of ordered queries. The method also includes determining whether a hash of the current query matches a hash of an expected query in the data chain. The method further includes retrieving a result set of the current query from a local cache in response to determining that the hash of the current query matches the hash of the expected query. The method also includes sending the result set of the current query to a client.

  • Patent number: 9552260
Abstract: A method for using a retain block in application code executing on a virtual machine includes identifying an instruction in application code, the instruction pertaining to an object, determining the instruction is part of a retain block, prior to executing the instruction, determining whether the instruction is to cause the object to be modified, and when the instruction is to cause the object to be modified, storing data indicating a first state of the object in a retain block store and causing the first state of the object to be modified using a second state. Also, the method includes in response to an error occurring during an execution of the instruction, returning the object from the second state to the first state using the stored data.

  • Publication number: 20170006500
Abstract: An example method for reducing data communications includes receiving, at a data hub, a first set of messages from a first device. Each message of the first set includes a value. The method also includes sending one or more messages of the first set to one or more devices. The method further includes receiving a second set of messages from a second device. Each message of the second set indicates whether a state change occurred in the second device for one or more values included in the first set. The method also includes computing a value interval based on the one or more values associated with the first set. Values within the value interval were indicated in the second set as causing a state change in the second device. The method further includes configuring the first device to transmit messages for values within the value interval.

  • Patent number: 9537931
Abstract: An example system for distributing a workload of an application includes a class identifier that identifies a remotely instantiable class in an instruction. Execution of the instruction includes processing a workload. The example system also includes a distributor that selects a remote node to process a portion of the workload, sends a message to the selected remote node to cause (i) the selected remote node to instantiate the remotely instantiable class and (ii) the selected remote node to process the portion of the workload by invoking a method of the instantiated class, and receives a result of the processed portion of the workload.

  • Publication number: 20160246835
Abstract: A processing device translates a set of federated queries submitted to a federated data source server into a set of native data source queries for the particular type of data source using a federated data source connector for a particular type of data source, inputs the set of native data source queries for the particular type of data source into a component corresponding to the particular type of data source, marks the component in view of the set of native data source queries, and generates output indicating whether one or more of the set of native data source queries is not acceptable as input for the component. The marked component and the output indicate whether the federated data source connector for the particular type of data source includes an error.

  • Publication number: 20160246465
Abstract: A computing system provides a recording, by a processing device, trace data that is generated for one or more graphical user interface (GUI) interactions of a user. The computing system extracts a subset of the trace data from the recorded trace data, the subset of trace data being associated with one or more GUI interactions specifying operations of a development application performed on a work item. The computing system assembles a script in view of the subset of the trace data to duplicate the operations of the development applications specified by the one or more GUI interactions for one or more other work items.

  • Publication number: 20160239499
Abstract: An example method of providing a list of entities includes obtaining a list of entities responsive to a request from a client. Each entity in the list includes a set of attribute name-value pairs. The method also includes recursively dividing the list of entities into subgroups and for each division resulting in a plurality of subgroups including one or more entities, and assigning a subgroup number to each of the corresponding entity's attribute names by which the division is based. The method also includes generating a logical message tree of entities. The method further includes sorting the list of entities based on the order of the entities in the logical message tree and serializing the sorted list of entities into a data stream. The method also includes transmitting a list of subgroup numbers and the entities in the sorted order over a network to the client.

  • Patent number: 9407721
Abstract: A system and method of server selection using competitive evaluation includes receiving a service request at an arbiter running on a computing device, determining whether the service request is associated with a preferred server, and forwarding the service request to the preferred server when the service request is associated with the preferred server. When the service request is not associated with the preferred server, the method further includes using the arbiter to coordinate a competitive evaluation among a plurality of active servers, selecting as the preferred server a first one of the active servers that completes processing of the service request first, and associating the preferred server with the service request. The method further includes receiving a response to the service request from the preferred server and returning the response to a client. The service request is received from the client.
