  • Patent number: 9958880
Abstract: A gas-over-oil actuator system for use with a valve in a natural gas pipeline. The system includes a gas-over-oil actuator and a wireless position monitor operatively coupled to the gas-over-oil actuator. The wireless position monitor includes an integral opened spool valve and is adapted to be communicatively coupled to a remote workstation via a wireless network and a wireless gateway. At least one switching relay is operatively coupled to the gas-over-oil actuator and the wireless position monitor. Upon receiving a wireless command from the remote workstation, the wireless position monitor drives a pressure signal from the opened center spool valve to the at least one switching relay to manage high pressure supply to the gas-over-oil actuator and move the valve to a desired position.

  • Publication number: 20100294967
Abstract: A valve actuator (1) for converting a reciprocating rectilinear motion into a reciprocating angular rotary motion and/or vice versa, including a pivot (2) for generating an angular rotary motion about its axis (A5), a slider (7) linearly sliding in at least one guide (6) which defines an axis (A1) perpendicular to the axis (A5). The pivot and slider are connected together by elements (11, 12) for rotary-to-rectilinear motion conversion or vice versa, the elements including a pin (12) integral by one end to the pivot (2), whereas the other end slides within a sleeve (11) which freely pivots at (C) on the slider, about an axis (A3) perpendicular to the axis (A3) perpendicular to the axis (A1); any rotation of the pivot (2) about the axis of rotation (A5) parallel to (A3) corresponds to an identical angular rotation of the pin which in turn drives the slider and/or vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20100288956
Abstract: A valve actuator device (1) of the type adapted to convert a reciprocating rectilinear motion into a reciprocating angular motion and vice versa in valve actuators, of the type including a sleeve (2) adapted to be keyed to a corresponding rotation driving shaft, a slider (4) sliding along linear guides (5), one or more forks (3) integral with the sleeve for holding an element (6) extending from the slider (4) in the gap (3b) between its prongs, to generate a translational motion upon rotation of the sleeve and vice versa. Three or more equally spaced rods (5) are provided for guiding the slider, and are arranged to define the vertices of a regular polygon with the center of application of the stem (11) or the center of gravity of the slider, to prevent any torque or rotation moment from building up on the slider as it slides on the rods.
