  • Publication number: 20160005150
Abstract: A data entry system is provided using a virtual dynamic keypad having at least four keys, wherein to four of the keys at least substantially all of the letters of a language are distributively assigned and wherein the locations of the four letter keys relating to each other are dynamically defined during the entry of text. A text entry system is also provided using a virtual keypad having at least four keys wherein to four of its keys at least substantially all of the letters of a language are distributively assigned and wherein the locations of the four letter keys relating to each other are dynamically defined based on a calibrating procedure provided by the user. A data entry system is provided using a pointing device providing different pointing directions wherein each of the pointing directions duplicates a key of a predefined virtual keypad model wherein to at least some of its keys substantially all of the letters of a language are distributively assigned.

  • Patent number: 9158388
Abstract: A data entry system includes a plurality of keys each of which has two or more symbols associated with each key and a means for receiving a second specific input from a user. A third correction key is provided, where a user enters a desired input by pressing one or more of the plurality of keys corresponding to the symbols required for the desired input and further provides a second specific input also relating to at least a portion of the desired input, such that the system produces a response to the desired input by predicting the desired input based on the symbols pressed by the user and based on the second specific input. If the produced response is different than the desired input, the user may press the correction key to scroll through additional less frequent responses from the system also matching the symbols pressed and the second specific input.

  • Publication number: 20150261429
Abstract: A data input system has a keypad defining a plurality of keys. Each key contains at least one symbol of a group of symbols. The group of symbols is divided into subgroups each having at least one of alphabetical symbols, numeric symbols, and command symbols, where each subgroup is associated with at least a portion of a user's finger. A finger recognition system is in communication with at least one key, where the key has at least a first symbol from a first subgroup and at least a second symbol from a second subgroup. The finger recognition system recognizes the portion of the user's finger when the finger interacts with the key so as to select the symbol on the key, corresponding to the subgroup associated with the portion of the user's finger.

  • Publication number: 20050253814
Abstract: A data entry system includes a predefined number of keys for at least inputting arbitrary characters through the keys. The data entry system uses a number of symbols having at least the letters of the alphabet of at least one language and where the symbols are assigned to the keys such that at least two of the letters are assigned to at least one of the keys. A symbol assigned to a key is inputted by providing a predefined type of interaction such as one type of pressing action on the key and providing a speech information corresponding to the symbol. The speech information is detected and analyzed based on at least one of, a user's voice and a user's lips movements. The data entry system uses a database of words of a language such that in order to enter a word of the database a user provides a combined information corresponding to the word, where the combined information includes a first and second type of information.
