Abstract: The present invention pertains to a reversibly thermochromic system comprising a substituted or an unsubstituted 6,11-dihydroxy-naphthacene-5,12-dione and a base and to a reversibly thermochromic composition comprising the reversibly thermochromic system and a carrier material and to novel substituted 6,11-dihydroxy-naphthacene-5,12-diones.

Abstract: A degradation resistant gingival retraction cord comprising or consisting essentially of silk is formed from two or more strands that are braided, twisted or woven. The degradation resistant retraction cord comprises at least about 50% silk, 80% silk, 90% silk, 95% silk, or essentially all silk. They are able to maintain at least about 70%, 80% or 90% of this tensile strength for a time period of at least about 7 days, 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days. The silk retraction cords have the look, feel and desirable utility of a thin, flexible, and resilient natural fiber cord, while also resisting degradation when pre-impregnated with a corrosive agent. Such cords combine the degradation resistance of a man-made fiber, while also having greater liquid absorbance, lightness, flexibility and resilience like a natural fiber cord.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for generating and imprinting a retrievable cryptographic key during the fabrication of a topographic structure, in particular for microelectronic or micromechanical components. In the method a multiplicity of measuring circuits (11) is generated in the topographic structure, which measuring circuits each dependent on a value of at least one electrical or physical property in the topographic structure, which is subject to random fluctuations during the fabrication of the topographic structure containing the measuring circuits (11), generate a measuring value. The cryptographic key is formed or derived from the measuring values of the measuring circuits (11). The measuring circuits (11) are composed of three-dimensional electrical line structures (9, 10), each of which is provided with a random design and is generated in the topographic structure, and generate the measuring values dependent on the value of a parasitic electrical property of the line structures (9, 10).

Abstract: Various aspects and embodiments are directed to a graphical user interface that organizes interface elements into views of computer content for presentation to a user. Different views of are used to provide an interface that is responsive to configurations of the device and responsive to activity being performed by the user. Aspects include permitting the user to transition the device from one configuration to another during its use, for example from easel to laptop modes. Further the elements that comprise the graphical user interface are configured to present a summarized view of available actions and content, in order to simplify user interaction. The different views present different organizations of the interface elements and in some example display only certain ones of the modes of content in order to reduce the number of options a user must navigate to accomplish an objective. According to another aspect, methods and systems for streamlining user interaction with computer content are provided.

Abstract: A method of making a packaged antimicrobial suture comprising the steps of providing a containment compartment that is substantially free of an antimicrobial agent; positioning a suture within the containment compartment, said suture comprising one or more surfaces having an antimicrobial agent disposed thereon, said antimicrobial agent being selected from the group consisting of halogenated hydroxyl ethers, acyloxydiphenyl ethers, and combinations thereof; placing the containment compartment having the suture in an outer package; and subjecting the outer package, the containment compartment and the suture to time, temperature and pressure conditions sufficient to vapor transfer an effective amount of the antimicrobial agent from the suture to the containment compartment, while retaining an effective amount of said antimicrobial agent on the suture, thereby substantially inhibiting bacterial colonization on the suture and the containment compartment.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to novel cycloalkylphenyl-substituted cyclic ketoenols of the formula (I) in which J, X, Y, m and CKE are as defined above, to processes and intermediates for their preparation and to their use as pesticides and/or herbicides. Moreover, the disclosure relates to selective herbicidal compositions comprising, firstly, the cycloalkylphenyl-substituted cyclic ketoenols and, secondly, a crop plant compatibility-improving compound. Abstract: An improved miniature portable child's training toilet comprises a first chamber with a toilet seat opening, a second chamber connected thereto, and a flap member at a connection point. A miniaturized tank portion with valve means and means of selectively causing the valve to open, allows fluid from the tank to move under gravity to the first chamber and continue into the second chamber, flushing material into the second chamber of the toilet. A means of separating the first and second chambers of the toilet for emptying the second chamber after flushing comprises a gasket for sealing the junction of the chambers. An electronic sound and light producing means plays congratulatory sounds and causes the toilet to illuminate when flushed. An alternate embodiment further comprises an “S” bend connecting the chambers, forming a water trap, and causing siphon action when the toilet is flushed.
