  • Publication number: 20150326082
Abstract: A single-phase induction motor includes a stator including a main winding with a first coil (P1a), a second coil (P1b), a third coil (P2a) and a fourth coil (P2b). The first coil and the third coil are manufactured from a first conductive material (2), the second coil and the fourth coil are manufactured from a second conductive material (3), with resistivity other than that of the first conductive material. The first coil and the second coil are arranged at one of the stator poles (P1) and the third coil and the fourth coil are arranged at the opposite pole (P2). The first coil and the fourth coil are electrically connected through a series connection, configuring a first branch (R1). The second coil (P1b) and the third coil (P2a) are electrically connected through a connection in series, configuring a second branch (R2).

  • Publication number: 20140125269
Abstract: A winding switching circuit and thermal protection for dual voltage hermetic induction motors used in hermetic cooling compressors. The circuit includes two coils of the main winding, an auxiliary winding, three switches that are connected based on desired connections for each of the power arrangements, a start-up relay and thermal protection devices that protect the two main windings from overheating. The circuit is operative in first and second arrangements. In the first arrangement, the first switch and the third switch are connected, the second switch is disconnected, and the first main winding, and second main winding and the auxiliary winding are connected in parallel. In the second arrangement, the first switch and the third switch are disconnected, the second switch is connected, and the first main winding and the second main winding are connected in series and the auxiliary winding is connected in parallel only to the second main winding.

  • Publication number: 20120223610
Abstract: The present invention refers to a stator blade (10) for an electric motor that comprises a central hole (20), a plurality of grooves (30) spaced around the hole (20), and a plurality of teeth (50) formed between two consecutive grooves (30). The corners (35a, 35b, 35c, 35d) formed between the edges of the groove (30e and 30a, 30e and 30b, 30b and 30d, and 30c and 30a) the rounding radiuses and the angles formed by these edges being acute angles. The teeth (50) present two side edges slanted together (50a, 50b) defined by the side edges (30b and 30a) of two consecutive grooves.

  • Publication number: 20120081048
Abstract: The present invention relates to a motor that acts both as a synchronous motor and as an induction motor, and that comprises a stator (100) having coil windings, a rotor (200), where said rotor is a rotor with magnets (300, 310, 320, 330) generating 4 poles, and the windings of the stator (100) can be switched so as to change the number of poles. The subject motor acts as a synchronous motor when in low rotation and as an induction motor when in high rotation. During its operation as an induction motor, rotors (200) are utilized having a protuberance ratio near 1, generating a sufficient flux to reach good efficiency levels with 2 poles, which prevents the motor from having torque oscillations during its operation, providing a motor with a lighter operation and a better performance and less noise.

  • Patent number: 7923882
Abstract: A synchronous machine and a process for manufacturing a synchronous machine having permanent magnets arranged within the rotor such that the leak of magnetic flux generated by the magnets is reduced and having constructive characteristics that maximize the difference in the reluctances of direct axis and quadrature axis while providing the strength necessary for the good functioning of the equipment. Magnet-fixation grooves of the rotor are provided with elongated ends in a curved shape, a first elongated end extending from the first free end to a region adjacent the end of the rotor groove bottom, the first elongated end being configured from an opening in the rotor, forming reluctance-increase channels, a second elongated end of the fixation grooves being configured so as to form the reluctance-increase channel and extending from the respective second free-end portion toward the second free-end portion of the other fixation groove of the pair.
