Abstract: Parcel-franking apparatus which comprises: a plurality of lockers (2) provided with respective doors (3); a management unit (11); locks (4) each adapted to lock a respective door and under individual control individually; door position detectors (5) adapted to inform the management unit when the corresponding doors are closed; a weight sensor (9a, 9b) adapted to transmit to the management unit an indication of the weight of a parcel placed in a locker; and data input means (14). The management unit (11) is adapted to act, when a position detector (5) of a door of a locker detects that the door is closed: to compute a franking price for franking a parcel placed in this determined locker on the basis of the data delivered and of the indication of the weight of the parcel; to cause the door of said locker to be locked; and to keep the door of said locker locked until a parcel retrieval code is recognized.

Abstract: A post office box (2) including an enclosed space (3) defined by a front surface (7) with an opening (20) fitted with a sealing device (21) that includes a first sealing element (31) movable between an open position in which the space is accessible via the front opening, and a closed position in which the front opening (20) is substantially sealed, and which includes a locking device (50) for locking the first sealing element (31). The box (2) comprises a locking element (41) movable along a rear surface (8) and connected to the first sealing element (31) via a connection (49) for transmitting a movement proportional to the movement of the first sealing element (31), said locking device (50) being mounted on the rear surface (8) and engageable with the locking element (41). A post office box system (1) including a plurality of such boxes is also disclosed.

The inventive device consists of: at least one safe-deposit box (2) which is intended to house the object and which comprises a door (3) and a lock (4), a code input device (9a, 9b), and a control unit (11) which is designed to authorise an object to be deposited therein and subsequently removed therefrom following the entry of a removal code. The device also comprises a weight sensor (14a, 14b) which supports the weight of the safe-deposit box. The aforementioned control unit is designed to determine the weight of the object contained in the safe-deposit box (2) once an object has been deposited therein, to determine the variation in the weight of the safe-deposit box when an object is being removed and to emit an alarm signal when the object has been removed if said variation does not correspond to the weight of the object.
