  • Publication number: 20250130025
Abstract: A polymer ammunition cartridge that includes a cartridge body extending from the base end and a cartridge nose extending from the body is disclosed. The cartridge nose has a shoulder and a neck that extends to a projectile opening forming a distal end of the cartridge. Defined on the inner surface of the neck at an intermediate position between the shoulder and the projectile opening is an annular shelf. The neck further includes at least one wicking groove formed on the inner surface and extending from the projectile opening to the annular shelf. The wicking groove is configured to receive adhesive after a bullet has been installed into the neck and the annular shelf arrests the flow of adhesive thereby structurally limiting bondage between the neck and a bullet to the longitudinal length of the wicking grooves.

  • Patent number: 12251777
Abstract: A process monitoring system for an additive manufacturing apparatus includes a scanner, a sensor device, and an optical focus-tracking device. The scanner includes an optical adjustment device that directs a melting beam emitted by a laser melting device onto a construction plane to generate a melting section of the construction plane. The sensor device may detect reflected radiation from the melting section and generate sensor data indicative of a size, shape, and/or temperature corresponding to the melting section. The optical focus-tracking device includes a focusing lens located between the scanner and the sensor device. The focusing lens may be actuatable by electronic machine data derived from the sensor data to impart a first focus adjustment with respect to the reflected radiation detected by the sensor followed by a second focus adjustment with respect to the melting beam directed by the optical adjustment device.

  • Patent number: 12247821
Abstract: The present invention provides a two piece and a three piece primer insert for ammunition piece. Each of the individual pieces may be formed by punching, pressing, stamping, molding, milling, coining, or by additive manufacturing. The individual pieces may be joined by clinching, pressing welding soldering, sintering, adhesive gluing, staking, and iterative addition by forming one piece into another piece.

  • Publication number: 20250003719
Abstract: An improved polymer-based cartridge includes a primer insert defining a base end and connected to a cartridge body that extends forward to a shoulder region and has a length defined by industry standards for that caliber. A cartridge nose extends forward from the cartridge body and has an industry standard outer angle. An interference region, noncompliant with the industry standards, connects the industry standard angle to the neck. The interference region causes interference between the cartridge nose and a shoulder support surface defined by an industry compliant firearm chamber of the same caliber. The improved polymer cartridge thus exceeds maximum dimensions set by industry standards. A second interference region can be defined at the distal end of neck and is a result of an increase to the overall axial length of the cartridge in comparison to the corresponding length in an industry standard cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20230354714
Abstract: A micromechanical component for a sound transducer device. The micromechanical component includes a substrate, a diaphragm, at least one piezoelectric element, and at least one electrical contact connection. The diaphragm can vibrate and is connected to the substrate. The at least one piezoelectric element is disposed between the diaphragm and the substrate and is connected to the diaphragm. The at least one piezoelectric element is designed to produce and/or detect vibrations of the diaphragm in the ultrasonic range. The at least one electrical contact connection is electrically connected to the at least one piezoelectric element. The micromechanical component can be connected, using flip chip technology, to a control circuit such that the at least one piezoelectric element can be electrically connected to the control circuit by means of the at least one electrical contact connection.
