  • Patent number: 11821343
Abstract: An internal combustion engine comprises a crankshaft, at least one camshaft adjustable electromechanically by an actuating gearing, an engine control unit, and a camshaft control unit for controlling an actuating motor which operates the actuating gearing. The engine control unit is linked to a device for detecting the angular position of the crankshaft, and the camshaft control unit is linked to the engine control unit. A device for detecting a reference position of the camshaft and a device for detecting the angular position of the shaft of the actuating motor are provided as sole mechanisms for detecting the angular position of the camshaft. The camshaft control unit is designed to determine the phase angle of the camshaft in relation to the crankshaft on the basis of the information items provided by said devices in combination with the detected angular position of the crankshaft and the transmission ratio of the actuating gearing.

  • Publication number: 20220407408
Abstract: A method for operating a multilevel converter in flycap topology, in which the multilevel converter has at least two semiconductor switches controlled by control pulses of variable pulse durations within a control period that recurs at a control frequency to selectively interconnect a voltage source connected to an input of the multilevel converter, an output of the multilevel converter, and at least one auxiliary capacitor arranged between the input and the output, for generating an output voltage. The method includes using at least one oscillation parameter that describes the oscillation behavior of at least one harmonic of an electrical measured variable, at least one correction pulse duration is determined for a future control pulse to reduce the amplitude of the at least one harmonic and at least one semiconductor switch is controlled with a control pulse of the determined correction pulse duration.

  • Publication number: 20220404174
Abstract: For an easily implementable method for position determination using an inductive position sensor with increased precision of the position information, the position sensor generates a measurement signal from which a frequency functional dependent on the excitation frequency is formed, which represents a measure of the noise signal and the excitation frequency of the excitation signal is changed so that the frequency functional is minimized or maximized and the excitation frequency that minimizes or maximizes the frequency functional is used for the excitation signal.
