  • Patent number: 9604523
Abstract: Systems, kits and methods for transferring heat with a portion of a mammal are provided. Aspects of the subject systems include a negative pressure device configured to apply negative pressure to a portion of a mammal, and a temperature modulation device configured to contact the portion of the mammal under negative pressure in a manner sufficient to transfer heat with the contacted portion of the mammal, e.g., either remove heat or introduce heat into the contacted portion of the mammal. The disclosed systems and methods find use in a variety of different applications, including both therapeutic and non-therapeutic applications.

  • Publication number: 20160159197
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system having a control unit (1-5) for actuating at least one air nozzle (1-8; 2-1; 3-1) in a motor vehicle. The air nozzle (1-8; 2-1; 3-1) has components (3-3, 3-4, 3-5, 3-6) for influencing the air stream to be routed through the air nozzle (1-8; 2-1; 3-1). The air stream emerging from the air nozzle (1-8; 2-1; 3-1) can have its orientation influenced and deflected by means of the components (3-3, 3-4, 3-5, 3-6), and the emerging volume of air can be varied. The air nozzle (1-8; 2-1; 3-1) has electronic units (1-6; 1-7) in the form of a memory unit (1-6) and a position storage unit (1-7), the memory unit (1-6) being connected to at least one means (2-2; . . . 2-10) that can be used to set the components (3-3, 3-4, 3-5, 3-6) of the air nozzle (1-8; 2-1; 3-1) singly and/or individually or collectively.

  • Publication number: 20150258658
Abstract: A hand-guided tool apparatus having a braking device for braking a machining tool is disclosed. The tool includes a rear handle for operating the tool apparatus, a drive device for driving the machining tool about an axis of rotation, a belt brake including a brake drum and a brake belt which is wrapped around the brake drum, and an operating device including a gas switch for activation of the drive device and a safety switch for unlocking the gas switch. The gas switch and the safety switch are disposed on the rear handle. The operating device additionally includes a brake switch, which is separate from the gas switch and from the safety switch, for activating the belt brake, and which is disposed on the rear handle and is connected to the brake belt by a transmission device.

  • Publication number: 20150258703
Abstract: A hand-held tool apparatus with a braking device for braking a machining tool is disclosed. The tool has a rear handle for operation of the tool apparatus, a drive device for driving of the machining tool around an axis of rotation, a band brake with a brake drum and a brake band that wraps around the brake drum, and an operating device with a brake switch for the actuation of the band brake. The brake switch is connected by a transmission device with a first end of the brake band. A rotationally mounted compensator device includes a rotationally mounted lever connected with the transmission device and a spring element, where the compensator device is interposed between the transmission device and the brake switch. The spring element is connected on a first end with the brake switch and is in contact on a second end under bias with the lever.
