    Abstract: A service discovery method for activating an embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) device includes: initiating a device comprising an eSIM; and connecting the device to at least one of an entry point of a mobile network operator and a designated entitlement configuration server, using an entitlement configuration for automatically activating the eSIM via the connection to the entitlement configuration server and connecting the eSIM with a data service or a data network of the mobile network operator based on an entitlement of designated use-cases. The device and the entitlement configuration server validate parameters and/or methodologies for the entitlement configuration. The device requests the entitlement configuration server to provide supported parameters for a designated use-case and compares the response returned by the entitlement configuration server with its own supported parameters for the designated use-case.
