The unit for making propene oxide has an epoxidation reactor and a work-up section, as well as an air compressor driven by a backpressure steam turbine with a conduit connecting an outlet of the air compressor with the oxidizer and a conduit connecting the steam outlet of the backpressure steam turbine with a heat exchanger of a distillation column of the work-up section.
