  • Patent number: 10648128
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for filling in a tension member in particular for conveyor belts, in particular a tension member which is configured as a steel cable. The method is intended to allow the full penetration of the tension member structure. Here, the method contains at least the following method steps: —introducing the individual wires (2, 2?, 2?, 2??, 2??) of the strand (5) into the stranding head (1) of a stranding machine (10) and—partially or fully applying at least one coating agent to at least 50% of the individual wires (2, 2?, 2?, 2??, 2??) of the strand (5) prior to the twisting of the individual wires (2, 2?, 2?, 2??, 2??) to form a strand (5) or simultaneously with the twisting of the individual wires (2, 2?, 2?, 2??, 2??) to form a strand (5) and—twisting the individual wires (2, 2?, 2?, 2??, 2??) to form a strand (5), wherein at least 50% of the individual wires (2, 2?, 2?, 2??, 2??) have been provided with at least one coating agent, and—making a cable from at least one strand (5).

  • Patent number: 9815628
Abstract: A conveyor belt includes a first outer sheet disposed on a loadbearing side of the conveyor belt, a second outer sheet disposed on a drive side of the conveyor belt, and an embedded tension-member system disposed between the two sides, which is in the form of cords running parallel in the longitudinal direction of the conveyor belt. The tension-member system includes steel and, prior to vulcanization of the conveyor belt, an expandable coating which, after vulcanization of the conveyor belt, has a pore structure provided to at least portions of the tension-member system. The sheets are formed from a polymeric material with resilient properties. In some aspects, the volume of the coating after vulcanization is from 30 to 5000% higher than prior to vulcanization. The coating may contain at least one of a blowing agent and/or microbeads.

  • Patent number: 9534659
Abstract: A v-ribbed belt manufactured in a molding or grinding process has in different areas of the structure thereof different elastomer materials. In upper rib segments oriented toward the belt pulley there is an elastomer material that is not electrically conductive. The lower rib segments are made of an electrically conductive elastomer material. The height ratio a/(a+b) of the height (a) of the lower rib segments to the overall height (a+b) of the rib, as measured at the material boundary located at the rib flank, is at least 6 percent, or the absolute height of the lower rib segments is at least 0.12 mm.

  • Publication number: 20160298726
Abstract: The endless force-transmission belt in the form of a V-belt or ribbed V-belt having low-elasticity tensile members is produced in a molding process, in which a tubular blank having at least two belt material layers and a layer of tensile members is first built up and in a subsequent step is molded in a profiling drum under heat and pressure against the profile of the drum. Here a layer, initially applied to the rear side of the belt behind the tensile member layer, is pressed out of the belt material arranged on the rear side and through the tensile member layer under pressure and heat during the molding process, in order to form both the tensile member embedment and a part of the belt body in the finished belt.

  • Patent number: 9328798
Abstract: The use of metal particles inside the belt back (4) of a force transmission belt (1) serves primarily to protect the belt from overheating in transient temperatures of between 100° C. and approximately 400° C. which can occur during operation in motor vehicle engine compartments and in the heat radiation region of exhaust systems. To this end, the force transmission belt (1), which has a main body (3) made of at least one elastomeric material and having a sub-structure and a belt back (4), and a force transmission zone on the sub-structure, has lamella-type or flake-type particles made of metal, particularly aluminium, mixed into the elastomer at least in an outermost layer (5) of the belt back (4).

  • Publication number: 20140364261
Abstract: The invention relates to a v-ribbed belt (10) manufactured in a molding or grinding process, comprising a plurality of ribs (1) for engaging a multi-groove belt pulley (4), which in different areas of the structure thereof can comprise different elastomer materials. In two rib segments 8, 9), v-ribbed belt has differing elastomer materials that are exposed toward the flank (6) of the rib (1), wherein the upper rib segments (8) oriented toward the belt pulley are made of an elastomer material that essentially is not electrically conductive. The lower rib segments (9) are made of an electrically conductive elastomer material. The height ratio a/(a+b) of the height (a) of the lower rib segments (9) to the overall height (a+b) of the rib (1), as measured at the material boundary (12) located at the rib flank (6), is at least 6 percent, or the absolute height (a) of the lower rib segments (9) is at least 0.12 mm. The invention further relates to a method for producing a v-ribbed belt according to the invention.
