Abstract: Apparatus for the continuous delivery of a yarn or the like in loose form, comprising a rotatable flyer for inserting the yarn into the flights of at least two rotatingly driven screw spindles which are retained in cantilevered and axially parallel configuration, axially parallel reversing pins being disposed between the spindles, wherein the axes of rotation of the spindles and of the reversing pins extend substantially horizontally and wherein the reversing pins extend beyond the free ends of the spindles into guide rods on which yarn loops, which are delivered from the free spindle ends and are suspended substantially perpendicularly, are gradually advanced by mutual interaction.

Abstract: At each winding station of a winding machine a ball of stranded material, for example yarn, is lifted from a winding mandrel to a position above a conveyor which has cups for receiving the balls. Pointed ends of curved take-off members engage horizontally into each ball from each side, and when the ball is released it pivots downwardly into a conveyor cup about those pointed ends thereby ensuring alignment of the balls on the conveyor.

Abstract: A machine for simultaneously winding a plurality of yarn packages. Yarn is wound on each of a series of spindles by an associated rotated guide structure. Each guide structure includes a crank-shaped arm or guide portion adjacent to a spindle for directing yarn to the spindle, and a drive arm or section supported for rotation. The drive arms of the guide structures are simultaneously driven by a common drive motor and belt acting on individual pulleys connected to each drive arm via a sleeve and counterbalanced fork piece. The guide structures are selectively simultaneously adjustable in an axial direction by a crank operated screw shaft and nut mechanism.

Abstract: A process and apparatus for winding a yarn or thread on a reel or bobbin by way of a reciprocating yarn or thread guiding device, and which comprises a pair of settable counters driven by the bobbin or reel basket drive. After a predetermined number of revolutions of the bobbin or reel basket has been counted by one of the counters, the reciprocating guiding device is operated so as to decrease the width of the yarn or thread layers wound on the reel or bobbin and at the same time start the second counter which, after a predetermined number of revolutions, shuts off the reel basket drive.
