  • Publication number: 20070262015
Abstract: A filter comprises first and second adjacent filter material layers. The first filter material layer is joined to the second material layer along only a partial circumferential section of the second filter material layer to form an essentially disk shaped receptacle for holding coffee or tea. The second filter material layer includes a pocket. A section of the first filter material layer not joined to the second filter material layer presents a foldable tongue that is insertable into the pocket.

  • Patent number: 7264232
Abstract: A device for foaming a liquid includes a casing with a turbine arranged inside the casing. A shaft connects an agitator with the turbine. An air supply nozzle is coupled to the casing and a tube is coupled to the casing for conducting a steam supply to drive the turbine. A pipe is connected between the agitator and the turbine to introduce a steam-air mixture to a region of the agitator. The steam-air mixture is whirled together with the liquid when the agitator is immersed in the liquid.

  • Patent number: 6869627
Abstract: A pre-measured portion package for preparing a brewed beverage having a container for being filled with a pre-measured portion of an aroma carrier. The container has a circumferential side wall, a bottom, and a lid. The side wall and the bottom are formed of a single piece of material that is water permeable and capable of filtering; at least the side-wall is compacted to be water impermeable; at least a section of the bottom is water permeable and functions as a filter. The lid is also formed of a material that is water permeable and capable of filtering, is compacted in its circumferential edge region to be water impermeable, and is connected to an upper edge of the side wall to form a seal.

  • Publication number: 20020088807
Abstract: A pre-measured portion package (2) for preparing a brewed beverage, which comprises a container containing an aroma carrier (13). The container has a circumferential side wall (7), a bottom (8) and a lid (10), wherein the lid (10) is designed at least in part as a filter, wherein the side wall (7) and the bottom (8) form one piece and are produced by a deep-drawing from a plastic non-woven material (6) or a plastic/paper blend capable of filtering and wherein at least the side-wall region is compacted so as to be water impermeable. The lid (10) is also made of a plastic non-woven material or plastic/paper blend capable of filtering and is compacted in its circumferential edge region (11), so as to be water-impermeable, and the lid (10) is connected to the upper edge of the side wall (7) so as to seal it.

  • Publication number: 20020062741
Abstract: A filter-paper insert (1) for preparing filtered coffee wherein, to alter the flavor of filtered coffee, the filter-paper insert (1) is provided with a coating (3) comprising a flavoring agent that forms a flavoring carrier, as well as a carrier material and a solvent. A coating (3) of this type can be sprayed or imprinted onto the filter-paper of the filter-paper insert (1), or otherwise applied to it, and dries relatively quickly following the application. Despite this, the flavoring agents are incorporated into the coating (3), and are reactivated when the hot brewing water flows through the filter-paper insert (1) for preparing filtered coffee.
