  • Patent number: 11768254
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting Packet Energy Transfer (PET) in a cable is disclosed herein. The PET detecting apparatus includes an input adapted to generate a current by operative communication of the input with the cable, wherein the cable communicates PET as a pulse train. A spectral analyzer compares frequencies of maxima of the power spectrum of a signal derived from the current with a fundamental frequency of the pulse train and a harmonic frequency of the pulse train to detect PET in the cable. A power maximum of the power spectrum at the fundamental frequency and a second power maximum of the power spectrum at the harmonic frequency indicates PET in the cable. No power maximum of the power spectrum at the fundamental frequency or no second power maximum of the power spectrum at the harmonic frequency indicates no PET in the cable.

  • Patent number: 11627733
Abstract: The reel stringer may comprise a spool retainer, one or more eyelets, a reel holder, a housing, and a line cutter. The reel stringer may be operable to hold a new line spool and a reel such that fishing line may be wound onto a reel spool from the new line spool by turning a crank handle on the reel. The reel may removably couple to the reel holder for stringing. The spool retainer may hold the new line spool such that the new line spool may rotate as the fishing line is used. The fishing line may feed from the new line spool, through the one or more eyelets, and onto the reel. A first storage section may be used to store spools of string and other supplies. An alternative embodiment may provide a second storage area.

  • Patent number: 10380977
Abstract: A float angle adjustment apparatus for use with a stringed musical instrument including a lower block, attachable within the instrument, and an upper block. The lower block includes top, bottom, front, side, and rear surfaces, and a lower tailpiece extending outwardly from the lower block. The upper block includes top, bottom, front, side, and rear surfaces, and an upper tailpiece extending outwardly from the upper block. The upper tailpiece is spaced apart from the lower tailpiece. The upper block is pivotally attached to the lower block such that moving the upper and lower tailpieces relative to one another, such as via an adjustable screw, pivots the upper block relative to the lower block and, in turn, adjusts a float angle of a baseplate attachable to the top of the upper block.

  • Patent number: 10304425
Abstract: A guide plate configured to be coupled to or integrally formed with a guitar within a playing area of the guitar between a bridge and a base end of a neck. The guide plate can be configured to reveal, or cover over, the pickups and includes a body having an upper surface with a radius of curvature that substantially matches the fretboard radius of curvature of the guitar. The upper surface of the guide plate is elevated above a top surface of the guitar body by a predetermined distance to be substantially coextensive with the fretboard to provide a curved, depth limiting playing surface that matches the fretboard radius of curvature to limit the depth of travel of a pick between guitar strings and the upper surface of the guide plate in the playing area of the guitar.

  • Patent number: 8831675
Abstract: A mobile communication device (102) contains both a WAN modem (122) and a PAN modem (134) which operate on interfering radio frequencies. To mitigate interference, and still permit real-time communication operation, the PAN is prevented from transmitting while the WAN is receiving (714). The PAN carries the real-time data via an active link (144) between the PAN modem and a remote device (142). The active link uses a retransmission protocol, which allows recovery of suppressed packets within a given period. The PAN modem is disabled for periods shorter than a maximum time which guarantees success transmission or retransmission of the PAN data. To further aid successful operation of the PAN retransmission operation, the WAN base station aggregates data into a single downlink burst.

  • Patent number: 8554271
Abstract: A mobile communication device (102) includes both a wide area network (WAN) radio modem (122), and a personal area network (PAN) radio modem (134), which operate on similar frequencies. When the both the WAN and PAN modems are operating and carrying time-sensitive data, the WAN modem disables transmission by the PAN modem when the WAN modem is due to receive data from a WAN base station (406), including neighbor scans. The duration and frequency of disabling the PAN modem is controlled so that the retransmission is successful.

  • Patent number: 8054771
Abstract: A method (300) and system (200) for adding a connection identifier to an existing power saving class. The method can include the steps of—at a mobile unit (212) that is associated with at least one existing power saving class—generating (310) a type-length-value that specifies the identification of the existing power saving class, and integrating (312) the type-length-value into a dynamic service message request. The method can also include the step of transmitting (314) the dynamic service message request to a base station (210) such that the connection identifier will be automatically added to the existing power saving class without requiring deactivation or redefinition of the existing power saving class.

  • Publication number: 20100285970
Abstract: Disclosed are high-throughput methods for sequencing nucleic acid, which entail identifying the complete set of SNPs in a genome of interest in comparison to a wild type or reference DNA whose sequence is known or substantially known. The methods may also entail use of solid supports containing colonies of amplified nucleic acid fragments e.g., prepared by digesting genomic nucleic acid having substantially known sequence, wherein the sequence of the fragments at each coordinate is known. The supports, per se, and apparati containing them, are also provided.
