  • Patent number: 9906116
Abstract: A compact high-efficiency motor is disclosed. The motor includes at least two rotor segments having passive magnetics comprising permanent magnets and at least two stator segments having active magnetics comprising permanent magnets and associated electromagnets controlled by a control system. The magnetic effect between the at two sets of magnetics can be modified to sequence the rotor segments through a series of rotation-induced steps by controlling the associated interaction of the magnetic fields produced by the two sets of magnetics. The electromagnets are energized by a control system to provide a variable-speed motor that produces high torque.

  • Patent number: 4951045
Abstract: A portable electronic warning device for temporary conditions including a sensor to detect the presence of a pedestrian at a minimum first predetermined position, the sensor connected to circuitry which provides output to a plurality of focusing lights, preferably concentric bands of light, which direct the attention of the pedestrian to a message positioned concentrically within the lights, the device optionally including an audible alarm to simultaneously audibly alert a pedestrian.
