  • Patent number: 8456075
Abstract: The invention relates to a fluorescent lamp (1) adapted for cold environments, which comprises an elongated main tube (11), fixing devices (12) at each end of the fluorescent lamp (1) for fixing the fluorescent lamp (1) in a light fitting (27), two electrodes (15) placed inside the main tube (11), a heat-insulating outer tube (20) that surrounds the main tube (11) and creates an airspace (22) between the main tube (11) and the outer tube (20). Each fixing device (12) comprises an end cap (41) with a radial part (41b), that delimits an outer end plane of the fluorescent lamp (1), and with an axial peripheral part (41a), that is connected to an end of the outer tube (20).

  • Patent number: 7965038
Abstract: Compact fluorescent lamp comprising a fluorescent lamp body (3), a cathode space (9) comprising a screened space (11) around an electrode (5) arranged inside the compact fluorescent lamp (1), and a power supply device (19) so arranged as to provide an electrical connection between the electrode (5) and a contact device (21) positioned next to the contact end (13) of the compact fluorescent lamp. The screened space (11) is formed by the electrode (5) enclosing the internal wall (7) of the fluorescent lamp body (3) and by a neighboring electrode (5) and beyond it a disc-shaped cathode screen (15) in a direction away from the contact end (13) containing a central opening (17).

  • Patent number: 7394199
Abstract: Cathode unit for installation in a fluorescent tube body (3) belonging to a fluorescent tube (1), which cathode unit (5) comprises a cathode screen (15a, 15, 15?-15??) which partially surrounds an electrode (9) which is electrically insulated from the said cathode screen (15), a power supply device (11) arranged to make an electrical connection between the said electrode (9) and a contact (13), the said cathode screen (15a, 15 , 15?-15??) comprising a first end (19) facing towards the discharge, which first end (19) comprises a central opening (21), and a second end (39) facing towards the said contact (13). The first end (19) of the cathode screen (15a, 15, 15?-15??) is designed with a rounded-off part (25) in order to facilitate the insertion of the cathode unit (5) in the said fluorescent tube body (3).

  • Patent number: 6614148
Abstract: A tubular fluorescent lamp (2) comprises an electrode (8) mounted inside the glass tube (4) which is at least partly surrounded by an electrode cover (16) mounted inside the glass tube (4) and situated between the electrode (8) and the wall of the glass tube (4) at a distance from them. According to the invention, a spacer (24) is placed in such a way that when the electrode cover (16) unintentionally is moved from its mounting position in a radial direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the glass tube (4), contact occurs between the electrode cover (16) and the spacer (24), and between the spacer (24) and the inside of the wall of the glass tube (4), preventing the movement of the electrode cover (16) before it comes into direct contact with the inside of the wall of the glass tube (4). Thereby is prevented that the tubular fluorescent lamp cracks and may fall out from its fittings. The spacer is preferably a mica plate (24) with larger diameter than the electrode cover (16).
