  • Patent number: 8815315
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for improving the digestibility and amino acid profile of proteinaceous animal feed products by the use of a combination of acidic, alkaline and/or neutral proteases. The selection and amounts of the proteases is based on the particular animal feed product and on the conditions of the gastrointestinal tract of the animal to be fed the treated animal feed. Use of the treated animal feed will reduce the amount of amino acid supplementation required, reduce the amount of nitrogen in animal feces, and improve the economical performance of the animal.

  • Patent number: 7618055
Abstract: The present invention relates to a diaper changing station in connection with a stroller. The diaper changing station is attached to the stroller. When stored, the changing station does not detract from the appearance of the stroller. The changing station may be opened for use. The changing station is formed of a waterproof material for easy cleanup. In one embodiment, the changing station includes a bed and frame which are folded and stored below the seat of the stroller. The frame extends the bed from between the legs of the stroller to create a surface for the changing station. In other embodiments, the seat of the stroller is formed of multiple parts which are convertible from an upholstered seat to a changing station.

  • Publication number: 20080299098
Abstract: The present invention demonstrated the potential use of Lactobacillus johnsonii D115 as a probiotic, as a prophylactic agent or as a surface treatment of materials against human and animal pathogens such as Brachyspira pilosicoli, Brachyspira hyodysenteriae, Shigella sonnei, Vibrio cholera, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Campylobacter jejuni, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium, Clostridium perfringens, Yersinia enterocolitica, Escherichia coli, Klebbsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp., Bacillus cereus, Aspergillus niger and Fusarium chlamydosporum. The proteineous antimicrobial compound was partially characterized and found to be heat tolerant up to 121° C. for 15 min, and acid tolerant up to pH1 for 30 min at 40° C. The compound is also stable to enzymatic digestion, being able to retain more than 60% antimicrobial activity when treated with pepsin and trypsin.

  • Patent number: 6991341
Abstract: An improved illuminable umbrella that automatically produces light on the apex of umbrella when in its open position. The hollow shaft (50) contains two electric wires (92, 94) that connects the conductive plates (32a, 32b, 44) at each end of hubs, to the power supply (66) at the stump of the umbrella, and the light emitting device (20) at the apex of umbrella. The conductive plates at each end of the hubs are aligned to contact when the pivotable hub slides, upward along the shaft, toward the stationary hub. When in contact, the electric circuitry is complete to activate the light emitting device. A manual controller (62) installed at the stump of the umbrella allows user to selectively turn off light emitting device when the umbrella is in open position.
