    Abstract: A composite material and method of manufacture involve a mixture of an epoxy resin and a hardener being essentially free of methylenedianiline and vinylcyclohexene dioxide. A fiber reinforcement is located within the matrix. Advantageously, the matrix has a glass transition temperature of at least 250° F. dry, the resin has a pre-hardening mixed viscosity of 500–1500 cP at 75° F., and the composite material has, upon hardening, an interlaminar shear strength of at least 6.5 ksi dry at 75° F. and at least 3.5 ksi dry at 250° F.

    Abstract: The bond strength between an elastomeric material and a secondary material is improved by applying a coating of isocyanate onto the surface of the elastomeric material prior to bonding the secondary material to the surface of the elastomeric material. The isocyanate is applied to the surface of the elastomeric material by exposing the elastomeric material to an atmosphere containing isocyanate vapor which is substantially uniformly distributed throughout the atmosphere and causing the isocyanate to deposit onto the surface of the elastomeric material. Then casting a second material onto the isocyanate coated surface.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for the production of vapors of a liquid iron compound. The apparatus contains a vertical evaporator element which has an internal heating unit and an apparatus for introducing a regulated amount of the liquid iron compound onto the surface of the evaporator element. The evaporator element being enclosed in a gas tight housing into which a purge gas may be introduced to carry the resultant vapors out of the housing to a reactor chamber.Also disclosed is a method for evaporating a liquid iron compound comprising placing the liquid iron compound onto the surface of the heated evaporator element, thereby causing the iron compound to vaporize and then carrying the vaporized iron compound out of the evaporator with a purge gas.Further disclosed is a method for forming iron oxide using the evaporator.
