  • Patent number: 7292354
Abstract: An apparatus for the photoelectric measurement of an essentially planar measurement original includes a photoelectric scanner and a positioning arrangement for the two dimensional movement of the scanner over the measurement original positioned on a supporting surface and the positioning at defined measurement locations on the measurement original. The positioning arrangement is constructed as a type of SCARA robot and includes a stationary base, a first and a second movable robot arm and a positioning control. The first robot arm is mounted on the stationary base for rotation by a motor about a first axis of rotation perpendicular to the supporting surface. The second robot arm is mounted at the free end of the first robot arm for rotation by a motor about a second axis of rotation perpendicular to the supporting surface and carries the scanner, and the positioning control is constructed for rotation of the two robot arms according to externally supplied positioning commands.

  • Publication number: 20020033851
Abstract: A remission sensor is provided in an inkjet printing apparatus for various measurement tasks, which sensor is constructed for densiometric and colorimetric measurement tasks and has a high local resolution. In a first application, the borders of the picture carrier are detected and the printing of pixels of the digital image located outside the borders prevented. This permits the manufacture of borderless pictures without the wasting of printing ink. In a second application, the sensor is used for the photoelectric scanning or measurement of co-printed print head test patterns. The functional condition of the print head(s) can be determined by analysis of the measurement data obtained with suitable algorithms, and corresponding measures can be initiated. In this way the production of waste can be prevented. In a further application, the sensor is also used for the measurement of co-printed color test patterns.

  • Patent number: 5426508
Abstract: A manual densitometer for measuring the color composition of an original has a housing which includes a unit for measuring the original, a unit for controlling the measuring, as well as an evaluating electronics and display unit which displays selected variables and parameters. In addition, it has a control unit with a manually-operated dial, which can be rotated from outside the housing, whereby the measuring, the measurement variables, and the parameters for the measurement can be selected by rotating the dial.

  • Patent number: 4968140
Abstract: A manual device for the detection of photometric values on a printed product comprises a measuring head extruding from a housing into a measuring position. The measuring head is mounted together with its optical components on a measuring carriage, which may be displaced along the bottom of the housing by means of a drive motor between a rest position and a measuring position. The drive motor drives via a gear, a drive pulley and a grid axle for a monochromator. A sliding gear and a locking device are coordinated with the drive pulley, with the locking device immobilizing the measuring carriage precisely in the measuring position. The drive motor serves to displace the measuring carriage until the locking process essentially begins; and after this process, serves to rotate the grid axle.

  • Patent number: 4961646
Abstract: A manual device for the detection of photometric data which includes a measuring head to illuminate a measuring surface and to detect the light reflected. The measuring light captured by the measuring head is spectrally decomposed by a monochromator containing a diffraction grating. The intensity of the light exiting through an outlet diaphragm is detected by a photodetector. The spectral position of the measuring light is set by a drive motor rotating a grating shaft connected with the holder of the diffraction grating. From the spectra detected, densitometric and colorimetric data are calculated by a computer, which together with the spectra determined, may be displayed on a display field.
