  • Patent number: 8312688
Abstract: The present invention relates to a glazing unit comprising a glazed element (10) provided with a peripheral frame or with peripheral elements made of plastic overmolded onto said glazed element (10), said peripheral frame or said peripheral elements incorporating at least one element (13?, 14?, 15, 16, 17, 18?, 19?, 19?, 20) for reinforcing the glazed element, this reinforcing element being connected to said peripheral frame or said peripheral elements by an overmolding plastic (9) and consisting of a profile comprising a web part (11) that is arranged parallel or substantially parallel and close to the glazed element (10) and bears at least one projecting part (12) distal to the glazed element, characterized in that the projecting part or parts (12) does not or do not form a pocket that is open in the direction of the glazed element (10).

  • Publication number: 20060237870
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for overmolding windows (1), especially curved windows for motor vehicles, by injecting a plastic or reactive material, onto at least part of the surface, especially the peripheral surface, of the window, in which a window is placed in a mold comprising at least one seal (6) defining an overmolding boundary, said seal (6) being a profiled strip inserted into a groove (8) in the mold (3) and held in place by frictional contact and/or by engagement of complementary shapes and/or adhesively bonded to at least one wall (12) of the groove (8), and having a Young's modulus of around 30 to 400 MPa. The invention also relates to a seal having these properties and to a mold fitted with the seal.

  • Patent number: 6808797
Abstract: The invention relates to an interlayer for use with a laminated glazing. The interlayer may be formed from at least two sheets of polyvinyl butyral provided with a reinforcement inserted therebetween, with the elastic energy needed to deform the interlayer in tension being at least 80 J/m2 in all directions.
