  • Patent number: 9374946
Abstract: A bale unloading device is provided for unloading bales off from an inline bale wrapping machine. The bale unloading device comprises a telescopic bale unloading member that is found on the unwrapped bale loading end of the bale wrapping machine or on a bale storage trailer attached thereto. When in use, the bale unloading device goes from a retracted state to an extended state, pushing the last bale through a bale wrapping device and towards a wrapped bale support structure located on the wrapped bale unloading end of the bale wrapping machine. The bale unloading member is powered by hydraulic valves/actuators and therefore does not necessitate any manual intervention to unload the last bale from the bale wrapping machine.

  • Patent number: 9235931
Abstract: A system and method for the 3D reconstruction of a structure, the method comprising: obtaining at least two calibrated 2D bi-planar images of the structure, associating with each pixel each of the images a textural vector characterizing the distribution of the gradient texture and orientation in a window centered around the pixel, applying a non-linear statistical dimensionality reduction procedure to the textural vectors to obtain reduced dimension textural vectors, creating segmented images of the images using the reduced dimension textural vectors, projecting the representative 3D model onto the segmented images, adjusting the projection of the representative 3D model with the contours and homogeneous zones of the segmented images using the optimization of a cost function to obtain the 3D reconstruction of the structure.

  • Patent number: 8644608
Abstract: There is described an apparatus and method for recovering a contour of a bone from an input image of the bone with its surrounding tissues. The method comprises receiving the input image; applying in parallel at least three image processing functions to the input image to obtain at least three resulting images indicative of respective features of the input image, at least one of the at least three image processing functions pertaining to a spatial domain, and at least another one of the at least three image processing functions pertaining to a frequency domain; combining the at least three resulting images together to form a compounded image, the compounded image identifying at least two regions based on the respective features; identifying the contour of the bone based on the at least two regions of the compounded image; and outputting an output image for display, the output image comprising the contour identified.

  • Publication number: 20120180430
Abstract: A wrapping machine includes a fixed inner hoop having a non-circular shape. The wrapping machine also includes a rotatable outer hoop rotatably connected to the outer surface of the inner hoop and having a shape that matches that of the inner hoop, thereby allowing the outer hoop to maintain a proximal relationship with the outer surface of the inner hoop during rotation. The wrapping machine further includes at least one cantilevered support mounted on the outer hoop, the cantilevered support having at least one spool holder for rotatably mounting a spool of wrapping material thereon, and a driving mechanism operatively connected to the outer hoop for rotating the outer hoop. The non-circular shape of the wrapping machine is advantageous in that it is better adapted to wrap square or rectangular loads.
